More sewing, then a major cleaning session. All packed up and ship-shape now but still have not heard when our friends intend to stay. A bit annoying...

It would annoy me as well Maz.....
I wrote three articles yesterday and am aiming for another three today. Apart from the fact it takes me to the week after I teach, it's good for my back and shoulder to have a different activity.... One thing I noticed last week when Kev and I did three hours on his stove was that my legs were less tired after that than three hours in the shed on normal activities. I suspect standing relatively still at a machine is worse for you than more mobile activities.

I ordered some more silk bias binding to bind the seams of the coat I am making for the wedding in August. I ordered thinking it was lilac and Aberkhan bent over backwards to find it for me. When it came yesterday it was the wrong colour. I have reordered silver grey and hope it is right. I bought the original 10 metres from their shop in north wales and did it by colour matching the fabric so had no idea of its name. Fingers crossed for the right colour, otherwise the hidden seams of the coat will be bound in a different colour or not at all. I am so disappointed as it will spoil something I Am rather proud of.

Why not send Aberkhan a sample of the binding that you want matching? Or better still, have a great day out and visit them.

I have thought of both those solutions but actually time is a premium. Nearly every day this next week is full, we are away this weekend, I am away on an art week in a weeks time, leaving me 10 days to complete the outfit. The second colour choice is the only viable other colour on the webpage, so hopefully it will arrive on Monday , after our weekend away looking after the grandchildren. Fingers crossed

Thinking about it, I could always try the Manchester shop next week . That would only take half a day and I can get there for free on public transport

I told you so.... Go to it Girl!!
Having a rethink about today. I have two more articles on the back burner and might write them. If I do it takes me into August before I need to write more. It's an attractive prospect as I near completion of the two engines.....
Later at 10:24. I wrote two more articles and so I am written up to and including August 12th. I feel safe now! I even found time on top of all the other jobs to clean the kitchen windows inside and out...... Must stop being houseproud!

Back in the shed today..... It will make a nice change from hammering articles out and using housework as displacement therapy! (Mind you, nice to have clean windows in the kitchen....)

I'm definitely addicted David and do most of my posting while others are asleep!
I can relax today, I hate having to be in for couriers! Delivered at 15:00 yesterday so today I can have a normal day..... Quietly away looking after myself and Jack and making steady progress on the engines.

We used to have one but it and the 50 odd other add on mods on the site is what led to the crash. We made a decision not to load any unnecessary additions to the site after the rebuild. We just have two now, the upgraded post editor and the gallery module.

Today I have mainly been taking part in a Geocaching search organised by Isla's school. We split up into separate little groups and each were issued with a hand held GPS. This was pre loaded with the way points for the locations of 15 temporary cache sites. Each cache box contained a photo of an Olympic athlete which we had to name and card with a Q Code on which when scanned would reveal a letter. All 15 collected revealed "Rio Olympics 2016". The route was around the outskirts of Silsden 3.5 miles or so and it took us just short of 2 hours to find all the drops. Each finding group had a staggered start about 20 minutes apart. Lots of fun for the kids and a good walk.

Will do. Hope to finish today or tomorrow. One sleeve to go in the coat, some hand sewing, coat and dress to be hemmed and pressed. I managed to get a 1930s brooch from eBay in the same colour. It was in a black setting which has cleaned up to a beautiful silver.
