Moh, lots to be said for having all your teeth pulled when you are young! I hope he recovers soon. Funny thing is that I am working up to an article on dentists and I think you have given me a nudge.
I seem to be having a larger meal at dinnertime and nibbling for tea. Last night was a meat pie and three cold sausages..... Plus fruit for pudding of course!

I would rather have a baby than have another tooth pulled.
( could I have a moment to consider though?)

I had some milk teeth out when I was a child with gas still remember going home on the bus with mam. Later I had a couple of wisdom teeth out they were OK at the time as it was a hot day. When the weather went cold the day after it was really painful. Last night for tea we had chicken stir fry and the remainder of the apple pie for afters. Eileen

You are very lucky Eileen - my mate at work is so dim, he had to have his wisdom teeth put IN.....!

An impacted wisdom tooth is no laughing matter. I know, I had one complete with abscess. Don't go there if you can avoid it!
Meat pie, half a Soreen loaf and fruit for pudding. Must do some proper cooking soon!

I had all four of my wisdom teeth but two were removed to stop earache caused by me gritting my teeth when I heard loud noise. No good when having an addiction to disco's and loud music. Last night spag bol. Eileen

Even more simple last night, a banana butty. I shall cook something shortly!

Brilliant Chicken Curry, slow cooked in a stoneware casserole on a low heat.
Not sure it is the best thing for my tummy after a Seafood Pizza last night, that has had lasting reminders today, but....hee hee...we only live once. If I leave the windows open, I am sure we will survive.

Last night we had Turkey curry. Now running down supplies ready for returning home in a weeks time. Used French best steak and stewed it with carrots onions and potatoes the night before. Eileen

I had a bonus yesterday from Stewart. He minced up some well hung trimmings that were a bit too dark for the normal customers and Jack got 3lbs of good mince for the price of two. Goody! I pinched a third of it off him and made one of my mother's old wartime stand-bys, dead simple mince, onion and carrots with nothing else in it but salt and pepper, an Oxo cube and a full bulb of garlic. I casseroled it, cooked it slowly for a few hours then cooled it and put it in the fridge to develop full flavour. I can remember during the war we always looked forward to her mince and chips because it was the most 'normal' food we got, the quality of most meat was very poor. So yesterday I had bits to clear the decks for today, some potted beef butties and a pork chop butty for tea followed by sliced pear and apple with Double Jersey cream for pudding. That was a bonus as well because Kath had a pot left with a sell-by date of 12 October and gave it to me as a bonus. Stewart also told me he had a Dexter hanging and in a fortnight I shall get a freezer top up. I think a freezer defrost is on the cards for this morning!

Yesterday we had roast chicken dinner so last night for tea it was a ham salad sandwich. Eileen

The seabass was lovely buit we could not eat it all so we had the cold (cooked) fish on a butty at lunchtime. Steak, egg & chips tonight.

I survived off two meat pies and half a small cooked chicken yesterday. I left the mince shut up in the casserole in the fridge all day and couldn't resist tasting it last night, lovely! Spuds will be boiled today!

Roast chicken, apple sauce, stuffing, roast & new potatoes, broccoli & carrots.

Cold mince on a butty at dinnertime then the full monty at teatime, with mashed potatoes. Lovely and enough left for today.

Last night it was American style chicken with sweet chilli dip and a few fried sliced potatoes. Eileen

Dog mince casserole finished last night. It had got better and better with keeping. I have some Herdwick chops in the freezer thanks to my daughter. Hot pot looks favourite! This will empty freezer so defrosting compartment is on the cards today!

Chicken & chips - £5. large chicken - three dinners & 2 lunches - great value.

Herdwick hot pot was fine, plenty left for today!

Out for tea tonight to celebrate hubby's birthday, we could not do it last week because of his visit to the dentist.

Moh's right about chicken being good value for money. We have it regular here a medium cooked chicken costs 4 euro's here which we get 2 good meals out of for the two of us. Remainder of the cottage pie we had a couple of days ago. Eileen
