One salient fact about our climate that I am fond of quoting is that we are on the same Latitude as Newfoundland and Labrador and the only reason we are warmer than them is because of the Jet stream and The Gulf Stream current.
I've just got up from my second sleep and was so cold I put a woollen jumper on Just out of curiosity I looked up the weather in Newfoundland and Labrador. Here's what I found....
11ยฐC, Precipitation: 3%, Humidity: 96%, Wind: 9 mph. Mostly cloudy.
Not an exact match but near enough to what we are experiencing at the moment......

Yesterday afternoon we had an occasional sunny spell but by teatime it was heavy overcast and it stayed like that. At 20:00 it was gloomy and there was no late sun. This morning first thing it was calm, cloudy and cool, it hasn't changed since. The glass is up o0n 1018mb and the forecast is once again for a clouded day. The constant light west wind will give us a high of 13C and a low of 6C tonight with up to -3C wind chill this afternoon when the wind is at it's strongest. The outlook is for slightly warmer weather but with accompanying showers, not Flaming June!

Yesterday afternoon stayed dry and was sunny but cold. We had late sun at 20:00 when I went to bed. This morning first thing it was calm, cool and clear. It is unchanged at the moment. The glass is down on 1013mb and falling and the forecast is for heavy rain to come in around 15:00. The southerly winds are light to moderate and give us a high of 14C and a low of 19C tonight with a wind chill reaching -3C this afternoon. The outlook is for similar warmer weather but perhaps more chance of rain.
The CH is on again....

It's not looking good for tomorrow, I'm photographing a wedding in Skipton. It's at midday so overcast will be good but it's forecast heavy rain. Oh joy!
The reception is at Kettlewell Village Hall on Saturday afternoon, it doesn't look to be much better then. I will be putting the studio lights in the car just in case the photos have to be done indoors, which will be a shame as it's a pretty village.

The forecast isn't looking good Kev. Hard luck, I think you may need the lights!
Yesterday was as per the forecast. Dry with sunny spells until 15;00 and then things deteriorated. It was raining hard by 16:00 and was still damp and overcast at 20:00 when I went to bed. This morning the forecast says it is raining but in fact we have a light breeze and it's dry. During the night the glass has plunged to 950mb and the forecast is for a wet day with sunny intervals. The SW breeze will be constant and brisk and gives us a high of 14C with a low of 8C tonight and there will be a -3C wind chill all day. The outlook is for similar weather for the next six days.

We had a window in the weather for the ceremony at Skipton Reg Office, we even had a brief bit of sunshine
Hopefully we'll get the same in Kettlewell tomorrow for the reception, fingers crossed.

Yesterday afternoon managed to stay dry with some sunny spells and by 20:00 we had late sunshine. This morning first thing it was calm, overcast and dry. It's still the same even though the forecast says it is raining. The glass has dropped to 993mb and falling slowly. The forecast is for showers and sunny intervals all day. The wind is light and variable covering all points of the compass. We can expect a high of 13C and a low of 7C with a possible -2C wind chill this afternoon. The outlook is for it to start to warm up slightly but don't get too excited.....

Currently overcast and dry up here in Kettlewell but I'm not confident it'll stay that way. My lightning tracker app keeps pinging, there are strikes just off the coast near Blackpool.

Yiota in Bath had a sunny dry day but with a good breeze.
Yesterday afternoon we had showers and from the reaction of the satellite signal there was thunder about somewhere. By 20:00 it had settled down to a heavy overcast and dry, no evening sun. The glass is steady on 993mb and the forecast is for sunny intervals and showers this morning and in the evening. The West wind is light to moderate and gives us a high of 14C and a low of 11C tonight with a -3C wind chill at times. The outlook is for similar, slightly warmer weather.

Later at O5:00 News from Greece about a very early start to a severe summer heat wave. One Tourist has died from extreme heat already in Corfu.
06:45. The rain has started and the CH is on. That tells the story about this morning's weather.

I've had a short walk and got essential cooking salt, cider apple vinegar and organic coffee.
There is a wind as forecast but it is not cold, the day, though overcast, has an entirely different feel to it. We may be shut of the unseasonably cold weather!

The kids called for me and we went and had fish and chips sat in the sun in the Town Square. Great and I got all the news. Spoiled slightly by the fact the surgery has cocked up and my repeat prescription has run out.
