I've had my walk, shirtsleeves and a light waistcoat, that's better! We have sunny intervals at the moment, patches of really dark cloud coming over but no rain. Very pleasant.

The afternoon ended up tending to full sun again, At 20:00 that was still the case and we had late sun. This morning it is calm, overcast and mild but dry. The glass has risen to 1013mb and the forecast is for an overcast start but then full sun. The west winds will be light and we shall have a high of 18C and a low tonight of 10C with up to -2C wind chill this afternoon. The outlook is for warmer, dry and sunny weather.

We have had a very light shower of rain which wasn't on the hymn sheet. It's dry and overcast now, we await the arrival of the Currant Bun!

It is June 23rd 2024 today. Yesterday, I bravely felt able to safely remove my fleece for the first day this year, and took the electric blanket from the bed just a few days earlier. Sky news seems to think this is bad news, and the words 'heatwave' and 'heat health alert' have been heard.

Good grief. . . .

It's a bugger isn't it David..... We no sooner have decent weather than the usual suspects are forecast5ing the end of the world by Heat stroke!
Yesterday afternoon the overcast relented and we had full sun at 20>00 when I went to bed we still had full sun. This morning it's calm, dry and overcast. The glass is up again on 1017mb and the forecast is for the morning full sun to revert briefly to overcast after dinner and then for the day to end with sunny spells this evening. The constant westerly winds will be light all day and we can expect a high of 23C with a low of 14C tonight and negligible wind chill. The outlook is for similar warm weather but no danger of heat stroke as yet!

Yesterday was the first day in Barlick where it was warmer outside than it was indoors. The full sun again deteriorated to overcast by 20:00 but we had a warm night and this morning first thing it was clear, mild and calm. We have a slight overcast now and the glass is down on 1015mb. The forecast is for sunny intervals to start the day but soon becoming overcast again. The constant NW wind will be light and we shall have a high of 23C and a low of 16C tonight with negligible wind chill. Tomorrow is forecast to be just as hot and the rest of the week though slightly cooler is looking good.

I've just been for a walk out to Town Square to collect my meds and go veggie shopping at Chauhdreys. I was going to do it and the blood test at the doctors in one trip but decided I'd be better off doing half of it today. It's very hot and humid, Kev hasn't mentioned it but for the third day running pollen counts are very high.
It's cooler in the house so I shall stay in now until I have to go out tomorrow. :biggrin2:

Yesterday afternoon was very warm and soon became overcast. At 20:00 it was warm, dry and we had heavy cloud, no late sun. This morning it is calm, overcast and warm. The glass is down slightly on 1014mb and the forecast is for a day of sunny intervals in a bright cloud cover and full overcast this evening. The mainly SE wind will be constant and light giving us a high of 24C and a low tonight of 14C tonight with only a -1C wind chill all day. The outlook is for it to be cooler and showery.

Yesterday was another warm day and just as happened the day before, the sunny afternoon eventually deteriorated into heavy overcast and by 20:00 we had no late sun. First thing this morning it was calm, overcast and dry and the only change is that the overcast is now very thin. The glass has fallen to 1004mb and the forecast is for a day of sunny spells and light showers. The constant SW wind starts light but gains strength until this afternoon it is brisk and gusts to almost 40mph. This gives us a high of 16C, a low of 11C tonight and as much as -4C wind chill this afternoon. The outlook is for similar temperatures and rainfall, It looks as though that's the end of summer for the time being!

Yesterday was far more clement than the hot days before. We had lots of sunny spells and very little rain. At 20:00 we had strong evening sun when I went to bed. This morning it's breezy and we have rain. The glass hasn't moved and is steady on 1004mb. The forecast is for sunshine and showers. The constant west wind is brisk and gusts to over 35mph giving us a high of 15C, a low tonight of 11C and a wind chill of as much as -4C. The outlook is for similar weather, perhaps drier and brighter.....

Yesterday was short on sunshine but to be fair, there wasn't a lot of rain. At 20:00 it was breezy and overcast, there was no late sun. This morning first thing we had a light breeze, overcast and it was dry. This hasn't changed so far. The glass is up on 1011mb and the forecast is for light rain to start around 08:00 and persist on and off all day. The constant SW wind will be moderate all day and gives us a high of 14C with a low tonight of 7C with a wind chill of -2C all day. The outlook is extremely boring, the same as today persisting for at least a week. The only good thing I can see is that voting day next Thursday will be dry with sunny intervals perhaps......

05:00. It's spotting with rain....

Yesterday afternoon was a procession of brighter spells but with light rain and spotting breaking out over and over again. It was never really dry and at 20:00 it was overcast and spotting with rain. There was no evening sun. This morning it's clear and dry and that could last until 7 or 8 o'clock with a sunny start to the day but it will soon cloud over and we can expect showers from noon onwards in the early part of the afternoon. The westerly winds will be constant and moderate giving us a high of 15C and a low of 9C tonight with a -2C wind chill for most of the day.
The outlook is for boringly similar weather but one good thing about it is that it will be growy, gardeners and farmers aren't facing much of a challenge at the moment.

On Friday and into Saturday morning, Sth. Aust. had a 24hr widespread downpour of Rain.
In different areas the downpour was measured at 20mm to 49mm. My area had 27mm. 😊
We have blue skies today and there’s still lots of clouds.

Yesterday afternoon was a rerun of the day before and from the look of the forecast is going to be the pattern for the next week. It was a mix of sunny intervals and light showers and by 20:00 was overcast so the late sunshine was soon cut off. The glass is down on 1013mb and the forecast is again for a sunny start but soon reverting to light showers. First thing this morning it was calm, clear and cool, it hasn't changed since. The westerly wind is light to moderate giving us a 'high' of 14C with a low of 9C tonight and a wind chill of -2C all day. The outlook is unchanged, similar weather for at least a week. We should be glad really I suppose.... no extremes of weather to cause problems!

Yesterday we had intermittent rain all day and in the afternoon it persisted right up until dusk when it relented and we had some late sun around 20:00. This morning we have a light breeze and it's overcast but dry. The glass is up a touch on 1015mb and the forecast is for a cloudy morning and then light rain and sunny spells this afternoon and evening. The constant light NW wind allows us a high of 15C and a low of 10C tonight with a chill of up to -3C this afternoon when the wind is stronger. The outlook is for even cooler weather and sunny spells with showers in between. We are in the middle of what used to be the Wakes in West Craven but this can hardly be described as holiday weather.....

It started raining soon after I posted yesterday, and kept it up all day. It’s a bit brighter this morning so have put some washing out. If it doesn’t rain it is warm enough to dry it.

Yesterday stuck to the current pattern; late afternoon sunshine but then overcast at 20:00. This morning first thing it was calm and cool and we had light rain. It's still raining and the CH has come on. (High Summer!) The glass is down on 1`007mb and falling. The forecast is simple, rain all day. The SW wind will be moderate and gives us a high of 14C and a low of 8C tonight with a -3C wind chill for much of the day. The outlook is for similar weather, perhaps even cooler for the next couple of days.....

We have a bit of sunning here at the moment, but it’s not forecast to last. I’ve risked another wash, hopefully it’ll get out to be dried.

Yesterday we had a better day than forecast and the day was mainly dry. There was some light rain late in the afternoon but nothing of any consequence. At 20:00 we had heavy overcast and very light rain, no late sun. The glass is down on 1001mb and the forecast is for sunny spells and showers but once again I think this may be the west coast model and we could have a better day than forecast. Barlick, as always, is on the cusp. The constant west wind will be brisk and at times gusts to over 40mph giving us a high of 14C, a low of 10C tonight and a wind chill of -4C this afternoon. The outlook is for similar weather but there are signs of it warming up a bit next week. We can but hope.
Yesterday evening it was so chilly in the north facing front room that I lit a small fire in the stove, just a few sticks and 3 knobs of smokeless fuel.... It was just right and I had a very pleasant evening. But I ask you.... a fire in July?
PS. Margaret and Mick are staying in his mother's house in Clitheroe and they report that the heating has kicked in for three days on the trot so I am not the only one.
Later at 04:00. The CH has come on again.......
