Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
That would be very handy Maz, please pop it in the post. Does it spiralize as well?
Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
It's a fearsome looking device, no wonder it has a steel cage around the blades. Still, I wouldn't want to stand close by it during action - there could be collateral damage, such as getting machine-gunned with bits of veg. Barlick engineer Newton Pickles would have benefited from one of those machines - he could have branched out into a new business: `Pickles' Pickles'

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
One of his specialities when he started as an apprentice was repairing the machines chip shops have for chipping potatoes so he was in the same field at one time.

This came to my attention this morning when I found a new use for it but what was it made for originally?

Expanding on Liz's suggestion: scooping hot coals and ash out of an oven.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Gloria hit on what I used it for yesterday, fine ash had built at the back of the ash hole in the stove and was interfering with proper placement of the removable ash pan so I used it for clearing that out but that isn't what it was made for originally. Consider the size of the 'scoop' and then remember my interests and have another think.

I see they have got the clock working again. Now all we need is the Millennium clock over Singh's newsagents correcting. It's been half an hour slow ever since the power cut we had.....

With all the impending County Council cuts do you think we will see it up for sale sometime in the future?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
The 'mystery object' will be in safe hands come the beginning of April; it's one of the places that the town council are taking over from Pendle Council...
I think everyone knows what it is; perhaps an expat can do the big reveal?
