Here in Barlick I think we are on the verge of having rain Gloria but so far we have escaped! I shall go for my short walk.

Yesterday afternoon the overcast persisted and at 16:30 we had a light rain shower. By 20:00 it was dry but overcast, no late sun. This morning it is calm and overcast but dry. The glass is down on 1013mb and the forecast is for an overcast day with light rain possible any time from 10:00 onwards. The constant NW wind will be light and we shall have a high of 15C and a low of 11C tonight with perhaps a -2C wind chill at times. Definitely not high summer. The outlook is for a similar day to this tomorrow and then we can expect sub tropical temperatures of around 20C with sun for the rest of the week.

We went to Grange yesterday. On the M6 we had quite a bit of rain, when we got back it had obviously rained here, but we had a fine day in Grange. What a nice area that is. Today it is fine and bright, mostly light cloud, with the odd dark one, looking like a good day.

I remember Dan Smith, one of Wild's coach drivers, once telling me that he thought of Grange as the Elephant's Graveyard! He said that old people went there to die....
Yesterday was another day of overcast for us but with less rain than was forecast. At 20:00 it was till clouded, no late sun. First thing this morning it was calm, cool, overcast and dry. Since then light rain has come in and the CH is on! The glass has fallen to 1008mb and we have light rain all day forecast. The mainly WNW wind is light and gives us a high of 15C and a low of 9C tonight with a -2C wind chill. The outlook is for a dramatic change to much warmer , drier and sunnier weather starting tomorrow. Gott Sei Dank!

All clear and bright today, with blue skies and big fluffy white clouds.
Hopefully it will continue for a few days, with just the odd light showers.

We may be about to jump well in front of you Cathy..... We have 21C forecast for tomorrow. A bit of warm weather at last! (The CH came on this morning...... )

Just popping back in to report that the heating has come on again..... High Summer?

Ours too Stanley, middle of July, central heating on and I have a Craghopper fleece on.

Good to note that the new Government has swiftly resolved the Global Warming issue. Fair play to them.

I lit the stove in the front room as well last night Ian. Only a small fire of kindling and half a dozen knobs of smokeless fuel but it did the trick!

The glass is steady on 1008mb and the forecast is for a sunny day! The wind will be very light and variable but mainly southerly. We can expect a high of 21C and a low of 12C tonight with negligible wind chill. The outlook is for slightly less warm weather and more overcast but definitely warmer than of late.

Yesterday afternoon was dry and warm. At 16:00 we had a spatter of rain but by 20:00 this had ceased and we had heavy overcast. There was no late sun. This morning first thing it was calm, mild and we had very light rain. It hasn't changed since. The glass has fallen to 1003mb and the forecast is for very heavy rain until 09:00 but I think we are on the northern edge of that yellow weather warning and up to now have escaped it. The light wind is northerly until early this afternoon when it backs into the west and becomes moderate. We can expect a high of 19C and a low of 10C with perhaps a -2C wind chill late in the afternoon. The out look is for dry and sunny weather and warmer than was forecast earlier. It may be Barlick summer!
Later at 04:30. The rain is heavier now.

I have been told that it's pouring with rain in Manchester. We appear to have been very lucky.It keeps getting very dark but we haven't had any serious rain and Susan says it is a nice day in Ravenglass.

The glass is up on 1014mb and the forecast is for a dry bright day with sunny intervals all day. The WSW wind will be light and we shall have a high of 21C and a low of 12C tonight with negligible wind chill. A much better day than of late! The outlook for the next six days is for more sun and even hotter weather for the next few days. This could indeed be Barlick summer!

Yesterday the sun gradually reverted to overcast but it stayed dry and warm. At 20:00 it was overcast and there was no late sun. This morning first thing it was calm mild and dry, it is still the same. The glass has risen to 1016mb and the forecast is once more for a day of sunny intervals. The light to moderate SW wind gives us a high of 23C and a low of 12C tonight with a negligible wind chill. The outlook is for similar weather all week, tomorrow could be even warmer.

It was a lovely day yesterday, we sat outside in the sunning for lunch. Today looks as though it’s going along the same lines

Bit different here Gloria, I have just surfaced after an extended second sleep and it is overcast! No sun in sight yet.

We’ve had the odd spit of rain, but mostly sunning or light cloud.

Yesterday we never really saw the sun for any extended time until late in the afternoon and even then the overcast came back. At 20:00 it was overcast and no late sun. First thing this morning it was calm, overcast, warm and dry and it's still the same. The glass is down a touch on 1015mb and the forecast is for a day of sunny intervals. The southerly wind is light to moderate and we can expect a high of 25C and a low tonight of 13C with negligible wind chill. The outlook is for similar dry sunny weather but perhaps a touch cooler. Still summer compared to what we have had so far this month!

Adelaide- we have Destructive Winds and Heavy Rains forecast. It’s already happening, more to come.
My daughter is supposed to be flying out tonight to Melbourne/ Dubai/ the UK.
And major computers are down at the moment - Supermarkets, Banks etc and at the Airport.
Not looking good, and it’s going to be a wild night.

Hard luck Cathy..... I hope your daughter gets away OK and that you survive of course. We don't get extremes like that. I shall be thinking about you..... XXX
