Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon the rain stopped at 15:00 as forecast and at 20:00 we had late sun. This morning it is calm, clear and we have moon and stars. The glass is up on 1019mb and rising and the forecast is for a dry sunny day. The SW wind is very light and we shall have a high of 23C and a low tonight of 9C with negligible wind chill. The outlook is for more hot dry weather, looks as though this is definitely Barlick summer!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
I've had my walk and a half hour sat on the bench supervising traffic. I wasn't in the sun, I was shaded but it was still pleasant. Quite amazing the number of people who get up on Sunday morning, jump in the car and go to Amanda's at Barlic Bites to buy breakfast.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday we had enough cloud to ensure we did no better in the afternoon than sunny intervals. We had late sun at 20:00 through a break in the clouds. This morning it's calm and clear. The glass is up a touch on 1020mb and the forecast is full sun until 14:00 and then sunny intervals for the rest of the day. The SW wind will be light and we can expect a high of 24C and a low of 9C tonight because of the clear sky. There will be only a slight wind chill. The outlook is for similar weather for at least three days. This is definitely Barlick Summer.
Interesting to note that in the days when the Wakes still operated this weather would mean that as soon as the town came back to work after the holidays, the summer would start!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was as per the forecast, overcast but a spell of sunshine at 20:00 and as promised a reasonably cool night and a good sleep. This morning it is calm clear and cool. The glass is down a bit on just over 1015mb and the forecast is for a dry day with lots of sun. The constant west wind will be light and we will have a high of 22C and a low of 9C with negligible wind chill. This is a reasonable temperature and the outlook is for it to be much warmer until weekend when it will retreat to about 19C again.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon was sunny intervals as forecast and there was no late sun at 20:00 only what could be described as a very bright sunset. This morning it is calm, clear and we have a crescent moon. The glass is steady on 1015mb and the forecast is for a dry bright day of sunny intervals. The constant light east winds give us a high of 24C and a low of 14C tonight with negligible wind chill. The outlook is for similar weather but there is a yellow warning in place for tomorrow for possible thunderstorms all day.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
I have just finished all my cooking, the chicken is roasted all the veggies are cooked and in the fridge and I have just cleaned the hob. All on the hottest day of the year so far but it was just how it fell and it had to be done. Suffice to say, that's enough worthy endeavour for one day... (The temperature in the kitchen is 80F in old money.....)

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon wasn't full sun but sunny enough to be warm. At 20:00 we had late sun partly obscured by cloud. First thing this morning it was calm, mild and raining steadily, it hasn't changed since. The glass is down on 1011mb and the forecast is for the rain to cease around 08:00 and give way to sunny intervals for the rest of the day but with a blanket yellow warning for the whole of England of possible thunderstorms. The constant westerly winds will be light and we can expect a high of 23C and a low of 10C tonight with negligible wind chill. The outlook for the next six days is for reasonable temperatures and mainly sunny, in short, very acceptable weather with no extremes....

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
It was the same here Gloria.
Yesterday afternoon was sunny and at 20:00 we had late sun as I went to bed. This morning first thing it was calm, mild and clear and it hasn't changed since. The glass is down slightly on 1010mb and the forecast is for a sunny dry day until early evening when we can expect some light rain showers. The constant SW wind starts light but gradually becomes moderate this afternoon and gives us a high of 23C and a low of 13C tonight with a -2C chill from noon onwards. The outlook is for similar weather but dry except for Monday which could be an overcast, wet day. Very good growing weather.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday as forecast we had scattered light rain showers in the afternoon but by 20:00 they had cleared up to bright overcast. The forecast gives us heavy overcast and light rain this morning but so far we have escaped the rain. The glass is down on 1005mb and the forecast is for a dry day of sunny intervals. The west winds will be light to moderate and we shall have a high of 18C and a low tonight of 11C with a wind chill this afternoon of up to -3C. The outlook is for the next week to be warmer and drier than was originally forecast. Not high summer but very acceptable weather. (I don't know about you, but I far prefer the sort of temperate weather we shall have today, I am not interested in very hot weather.)

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon we got some very threatening rain clouds and heavy showers which weren't on the hymn sheet. By 20:00 it had dried up but was still overcast. This morning first thing it was calm, dry and heavily overcast. It hasn't changed since. The glass is up on 1009mb and the forecast is for it to start raining soon and last until Noon and then heavy overcast for the rest of the day. The constant SW wind will be light to moderate and by this afternoon will be giving us a -2C wind chill. Tomorrow will be warmer and dry but overcast. That looks like the picture for the rest of next week.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was overcast mainly and dry until there was a light spatter of rain (big drops) at 16:30. At 20:00 it was overcast and we had no late sun. This morning first thing it was calm overcast and dry, it is still the same now with the addition of a breeze. The glass is down again at 1005mb and the forecast is for a heavily overcast day with rain expected late tonight. The SW wind will be brisk and gusts to over 30mph giving a high of 23C and a low of 14C with a -2wind chill. The outlook is slightly cooler but drier mainly for the rest of the week.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon started b right but soon descended into heavy overcast. I didn't see any rain but we must have got very close to it. At 20:00 it was still overcast, no late sun. This morning it's calm, mild and overcast. Not raining but signs of a recent shower. The glass is down on 1002mb and the forecast is for rain now but clearing up shortly and then a dry day with sunny intervals. The constant WSW wind is moderate and like yesterday, it will gust to over 30mph this afternoon. We can expect a high of 19C and a low tonight of 11C with as much as -3C chill at times this afternoon. The six day outlook is for very similar weather and temperatures. No late heat wave!
Later at 04:30. The rain has started again.....

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was brighter than the forecast and we had a sunny end to the afternoon. At 20:00 we had late sun. First thing this morning we had a light breeze and a clear sky, it is still the same. The glass is up on 1004mb and the forecast is for a day of sunny intervals. The forecast also says light rain from 09:00 to 15:00 but I have a feeling this might not be as wet as is forecast. The constant SW wind is moderate all day and gusts to almost 40mph giving us a high of 18C, a low of 12C tonight and a -3C wind chill this afternoon. The outlook is for an overcast wet day tomorrow but then rising temperatures and dry weather for the rest of the week. Things could be worse!
