Today I shall be Mainly...
Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
No he is not incompetent. His skills lay in other areas.
Recently he bought a new mobile phone. I expected teething problems, but there haven't been any. He can even take selfies now! He gets a bit frustrated with the iPad at times...anything with buttons on generally gets cursed. He is not keen on using cameras, though he takes better photos than I do sometimes.( at other times we get photos without any heads!)
His computer skills are amazing, and he is still working, designing beautiful houses...

Today we are having a day out with a friend. We are going to Abakan in north Wales for morning coffee and buy some sewing bits, then over to Afonwen near Mold. This is an antique and craft place with lovely restaurant. We are having lunch there. Then back via Llandudno . Hope the weather is ok

Just had a ride to the big farm shop at Skipton, then a ride to Grassington for a snack - it was murky but a nice change.
Say only a little but say it well.

Motorbike Moh...or horseback? I was in Skipton this morning, it was very busy and very misty over the tops. I hate it when the sheep are turned out on the moor, they were all over the road this morning and some idiots refuse to slow down.

Murky is right Moh!
It's Butcher's Day and shopping today and the comms and the shed will have their time. I've written enough articles to cover me up to January 6th which is good.....

Big filling today on the tooth that broke two days after the dentists gave me the all clear. Yuk.
Lovely day in Wales yesterday, cloudy and sunny and quite warm

I hate anything to do with teeth, Sue. "Touch Wood", mine are doing great!
Went for a 40 min drive to get our Christmas Grog today ( not all for us, some of it gifts)
Stopped off at a farm shop on the way home. Not a lot there but a lot of jars of sauces/dips/pesto/marinades. No good for us because they likely contain Garlic. Most do. Labels not helpful. Can't take the risk.
Did buy a load of fresh Cherry Tomatoes.
Must make some of my Pizza Sauce tomorrow.

The farm shop in Skipton is very good with everything you could want and very reasonable prices too.

Hard luck Sue.... Lots to be said for pot gobblers!
Maz, I bought garlic paste yesterday, lovely stuff, not seen a vampire for ages!

More careful work on the engine today...... It grows gradually!

Tomorrow is our first family Christmas party so I spent this afternoon icing red velvet cup cakes and bagging up chocolates for the lolly bags. I'm so over it now, 2 more to come!!

Do you remember the saga about our boundary in France and that Bob put up a temporary fence whilst we were there the other week. Well we have good news. The owner has signed to say she accepts the boundary markers . So the matter is closed, apart from us paying the bill for the remeasurement and subsequent paperwork. We strongly suspect she has signed because we have put a fence in without asking for financial contribution from her.

I'm glad it's resolved Sue.....
There will be no shed today. I hit a problem yesterday that can only be solved by a piece of steel plate. I contacted my mate Terry and I shall have the plate in my hand by Monday dinnertime. Nice to have friends! So, I shall be catching up on my reading instead!

Sewing today, need to get on with Claire's cape for her wedding. Two months to go and two holidays for us in that. I can't finish Erin's dress until we see how much she grows in the two months.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Relaxing after a weekend of celebration of my 60th birthday. I promised to party for 60 days and so far: we went to see comedian Rich Hall, we went to see the Specials, we had a Madness weekend in Minehead with other ska and reggae bands also, we went to York and back on a steam train, we arranged for live music and nibbles at the local pub (blues), the birthday itself was a lovely day with a great meal cooked by number one son, a meal out last night. BTW we are having days off in the middle of all these events because we are getting kn*ckered! The essence however was to make a big event of 60 days and I only have 2 weeks left then sanity can take over. Phew! What I will take away from all this is (at least for a while) a great series of memories.

Happy Birthday Julie whenever it actually is or was.
Regarding 60th birthday events, the bloke I sponsored nearly two months ago who decided to run up, around and over Penyghent each day in the 60 days up to his birthday has got to 50 ascents and is still going strong. He is up at about £1300.00 in sponsorship on his Just Giving page all in aid of the fell rescue association

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Today our walking group has a blank...nothing was decided therefore it will be more decorating for Bob. This lounge is a big job but at least the anaglypta, wood chip and fireplace have gone and the ceiling repaired from what we now believe was an old leak before we bought the house in 1972. All walls and ceiling now have two coats of white emulsion so previous colours will not show through the wallpaper when we put it up. We have bought the tiles for the hearth. Still gloss to do.
So today I shall be having a go at making organza flowers. I have studied several you tube video clips and had few practice runs. The flowers are to go on Erin's headdress, a fabric covered hair band. I also need to make one to go on the sash of the dress. 4 in total

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Colne library as usual for me then trying to find a Xmas tree. B&Q are usually selling them off for a tenner this close to Christmas and I like to leave my decorating till the last minute! The fridge and a large store cupboard have now been removed from our living room so I can clear up in there and make a start this afternoon.
