This is just for the HDR1000S and HDR1100S boxes.
Interesting Kev. Mines an HDR1000S and I have just checked. It will search and return results for previously searched items in the list. However if I try to instigate a new search it produces the alphanumeric block to select your text but when you move to it to select a letter the array disappears just leaving the delete, space and OK boxes.

Can you upload the patch as an attachment so that I can download it and give it a whirl please.
Did you install the software update Ian?

Sorry Ian, my bad. I'd composed the message but neglected to send it 🤣
You should have it now and another with the instructions.

Another example of why we are falling behind other countries...
`UK 'heading towards digital skills shortage disaster' LINK
`The UK is heading towards a "catastrophic" digital skills shortage "disaster", a think tank has warned. The Learning & Work Institute says the number of young people taking IT subjects at GCSE has dropped 40% since 2015. Meanwhile, consulting giant Accenture says demand for AI, cloud and robotics skills is soaring. Experts say digital skills are vital to economic recovery following the pandemic..'.

How many times have we been given that warning over the last ten years? :furious:
Instead of building dinosaur power stations and big ticket railway lines we should be educating our kids. Why can't our leaders recognise this????

Vaguely computer related. . . I know there are some fans (is that a pun ?) of Sir James Dyson here.

Good grief - I gave up when he started counting the invisible (to the eye) particles.

Snake Oil salesman of the first degree. Digital Motors, pffff no such thing, overpriced, over spec'd rubbish. His latest con are the hair straighteners that are priced at £399.00! If you are stupid enough to pay that and buy they do have free postage, so that's all right then.

I don't know how he gets away with charging so much. Have a look at his air-movers, or whatever he calls them, at USD 450. They're fans!

I notice that the latest Karcher adverts for their power washers have models that are smartphone app controlled how bloody daft is that?

My jet washer, you connect it up, turn it on, engage the motor with the trigger on the lance and select the flow with a variable nozzle, works fine

I have to admit to having a Dyson V6 hand held cleaner but it was bought for me. I wouldn't be without it.
However, I agree with what you all say about the prices of his other products.

I would suspect that in a way this is seen as a loss leader my Microsoft. Great advertising material..... that may mean a very attractive bid to the Met Office.

Microsoft are a software company aren't they? Since when have they been into building super computers or have I missed something? They would be much better going to see the lads at UMIST they built the first ones. :extrawink:

The genesis of the chaos theory started with scientist trying to predict weather patterns. After establishing what they thought was a reasonable algorithm to plug into their computers they gave it a re-run but rounded some of the data. This rounding was applied after the fifth decimal place and finished up with a totally different result. The conclusion was that a minute differences in data gave totally unpredictable results. 'If a butterfly flaps its wings....' Why bigger and better supercomputers will come up with anything different probably only applies to short term predictions.
