That's a problem I am thankful I don't have Maz. I can be entirely selfish!
I had the last of the sausage and veggies for dinner and tea yesterday. Today is butcher's day and I shall be considering treating myself!
I've got lax about carbs and quantities again! Must pull myself together and buckle down to some serious Wendy cooking......

They were staying 2 nights...now it's 3...so I've been mentally going through the contents of fridge/freezer/pantry trying to work out night 3's meal. ( they do like big serves!)

Still sat here thinking! Might have to do a dash to the Butcher tomorrow. Have plenty of Veg and Salad items though...
Tonight is Butter Chicken ( they don't like Rice and prefer it with Roast Veg ).
I cooked all the trimmings from the Chicken up with Rice, Carrot and Peas for the dog, so she eats well tonight too, though she is carrying too much weight at present as she hasn't been that active after her second knee replacement. I do wish they would both stop giving her food all day. They aren't doing her any favours by over feeding her when she isn't active ( I've said all I can say to them on the subject)

My signature dish - Tagliatelle with salmon in a cardamon cream sauce.

Prompted to revive this by finding ground cardamon powder in Morrisons. Tastes better than it looks - trust me.
On the way I've had to learn how to reduce the size of smartphone photos.

Might cook Fish and serve it with Salad tonight. I'm not the least bit hungry, but we are still a few hours out, so I may be more interested by then.

I cooked carrots and parsnips and mashed them with butter, I also steamed a lovely big cauliflower (59p Maz). I had one steak pudding left so for dinner I had it with cauliflower. In the afternoon I grilled six flavoured sausages and had one with mashed veggies and cauliflower for tea. As usual, 20gm of chocolate, some nuts and a small Cox for afters....

My whole Cauliflower was gone in three nights due to visitors, so won't have any more until next shop. My Pumpkin and Carrots disappeared too. I still have Broccoli, Spinach, Zucchinis and loads of Salad items ( plus frozen baby peas) so we won't starve before next shop. Amazing the amount younger folk can eat...
Just looked in my Potato crate and I'm down to slim pickings there too! Enough for one or two nights...

Living so close to the shops Maz I always cook veggies as soon as I get them, never any left in the fridge.
Had one sausage plus veggies for dinner and tea. Usual afters.

Same as yesterday, one sausage and veggies for dinner and tea. This finishes the mashed veggies so I shall get some more veggies today and get cooking!
Good job that I don't feel the urge to cook different things each day. If something is good for me and tasty I don't mind having it more than once.

Two sausages left so Sausage and frozen mixed veggie for dinner and tea. I like the frozen mixed veggies because they are mainly carrots and peas and don't require cooking, just defrosting and heating. This means they retain their crunch which is nice.

I shopped for carrots, parsnips and a swede and made another pan of mash with butter. I had that for dinner and tea with breaded, deep fried haddock fillet. Good veggie mash is the food of the gods and so easy.....

Home made chicken Fajita's. I say home made as I didn't use any of the readily available Fajita kits from the supermarket.
Our Jack comes round for tea on Thursdays and it's one of his favourites.
I mixed my own Fajita spice mix which is easy enough to get a nice authentic taste:
One teaspoon each of Chilli Powder, Cumin, Black Pepper, Brown Sugar, Dried Coriander, Garlic Powder and half a teaspoon of rock salt.
You can substitute Onion Powder in place of the Garlic for those like Maz that will shudder at the thought and leave out the sugar if you wish.
We get the flatbread wraps from Aldi as they are slightly larger than what comes in the kits and it makes it easier to wrap the ingredients.
2 x chicken breasts, sliced and cut into strips.
2 x Bell Peppers, sliced, I used a red and an Orange
1 x Large Onion.
Olive Oil in the Wok, seal off the chicken and brown, add the onions and continue to cook, when chicken is done add the peppers and the Fajita spices, stir fry until the peppers are heated but still have crunch, serve. I used 20g of the Fajita spice mix.
Made 3 wraps each and very tasty, very hot spice mix (might leave out the black pepper next time). Could have done with some sour cream to calm it down a bit. I only managed to eat two of mine so I let the third cool, wrapped it in foil and popped it in the fridge. Just had it for lunch cold and it was just as hot!

My son makes those...and loves them. He also makes Tacos.
He has made them for years and tries to chase me for a big garlicky hug afterward and breathe on me. Very cruel. He has to catch me first!
The next morning ( when he stank of Garlic) I would beg him to go and have a shower and use lots of soap ( please!)

We just had grilled Ham/Cheese/Tomato Sandwiches last night. Nice now and then.
Must make more of and effort tonight and have taken some top grade Minced Beef from the freezer. I'm not sure what I will do with it yet, but the possibilities are endless.

I have to start by throwing myself on your mercy.... Don't be too hard on me but triggered by Barbara's thoughtful gift of two plain white teacakes I decided that a day of indulgence was in order. I started with a bacon and egg butty for dinner. Remember me writing the article about the Spamettes? It triggered a yearning for a Spam fritter and I bought a small can of Spam (200gm) and had two slices fried on a butty for tea. All is not lost because during the day I had been slow-cooking mutton chops in cider and even though I had deboned and defatted the meat and returned it to the cooker and added mixed frozen veggies the resulting stew was a bit liquid so I took off half a bowl of gravy which by this time was a nourishing soup! I compounded my sins by having full cream ice cream for afters as well as the nuts and a small Cox Apple.
I promise I shall be on the straight and narrow today (except for finishing the ice cream).
I really enjoyed kicking over the traces!

Back to normal. Mutton and veggie stew X two for dinner and tea, Lovely warming grub and just right for the weather we're having.
