Sally has Dan's name on her forearm along with some small stars and raindrops. Last year at the third anniversary of his death she had a small butterfly done on her ankle. Generally speaking I'm not a fan but I can see that this has helped her and given her some comfort.

I'm not really a fan of poking holes in people either. I remember being quite mortified when Sally took my little princess to have her ears pierced. Carla was quite happy though.

Piercings or tattoos are seen as an art form by many though and I can see the beauty in some tattoo work. Piercings are a different matter though but still a personal statement, each to their own.

Edit: I just remembered, she also has three life saving target tattoos from over 20 years ago for the laser alignment of the radiotherapy machine at Cookridge.

See...there's the thing. I quite understand Sally's expression of love ( you guys have been through the worst of times and your loss will never be discounted) but what is one to feel when your teenage son reveals the tattoo he got after a drink laden "night on the town"? Not a small butterfly or anything of spiritual importance...but an ugly gothic image that is there for life. He only revealed it when I noticed blood on his shirt..I have to say I was shocked at the size of it...and I felt deep sorrow that he decided to cover a considerable portion of his back in this way.
You ( as a parent) are blessed with a child. You care for them and make sure their bodies receive every nourishment they need...
But you cannot always be there. And sometimes they make stupid decisions.

One of my favorite bands, saw the Eagles at the MEN Arena in Manchester they were astounding.

I always liked the Eagles. First came across them in California in the 80s.....

I've always been an Eagles fan.

I believe they use it in a lot of Aged care facilities here. "You can check-out any time you like, But you can never leave!" There's always residents around the door when I visit Mum.

I hope that doesn't sound too harsh. I have to laugh about it or I'd spend my whole life depressed. It's not much of a life.

I liked the care home I visited once in the States that had a large notice in the foyer... "The floggings will continue until morale improves!" Never forgotten it....
