Thanks everyone, a bit disconcerting when it comes so fast but welcome anyway.

I went off the radar because at 4 am Wednesday morning I finally gave in and we called an ambulance to transport me to Pingguo main western hospital. I was admitted as an emergency case and they immediately got to grips with stabilising me, so much so that I was able to discharge myself this (Thursday) afternoon, I'm feeling better but very weak and £200 lighter. The plan is to go to Nanning Friday morning and our taxi is ordered for 10 am tomorrow. Then we stay there in our little apartment and see how the situation develops.

Morning Graham, sorry to hear that. I can only imagine the stress on you and your wife. I hope the trip to Nanning goes well and You can settle down there and get some strength back. It must be a bugger and I sympathise with you.... All the best Graham...

Best wishes for a good outcome, China. I'd like them to restore you to full concours condition, as the car buffs would call it!

Thanks everyone for your wishes. I'm safe in Nanning. Beautiful ride down here in early morning sun.I have no strength and Jiaping and the car driver did a wonderful job of managing all the stuff we took with us. It included a heavy ceiling fan and light unit which I'll fit when my pal comes to drill the holes in the ceiling., I can't manage it on my own. One step at a time.

Graham, Get Mrs China to install the fan, if she's anything like Mrs P she will know all about it and would have been telling you what you are doing wrong. When your pal comes you'll be better of having a couple of beers and putting the world to right.

You are right. I can't do these things. It will only cost a tenner to get a tradesman in.No contest
EDIT: Jiaping has decided this unit will go in the dining area at our rental apartment and be installed by the site maintenance man.
I honestly believed I was on the brink, I'm just struggling along in a pathetic state, not eating, sleeping or pooing..I know others are worse than me.and they have my symphathy. I try to make a joke of my situation.

That was what I was trying to do Graham.... It must be lousy especially the episode of restricted breathing. It was fear of that that pushed me to stop smoking my pipe after over 75 years. I'm glad I did, I breathe much better now. I can do all my worrying about Covid now!

We had our boosters this morning at Colne Health Centre. Conveyor belt basically, in via a side door, registered, jabbed then down the corridor to the main foyer for the obligatory 15 minute wait for you to fall over, out by 10.30 all sorted.

I hope you have as easy a passage as I did, No side effects at all.

Unfortunately not Stanley, Sally and myself both feel like we have been hit by a train. Hardly slept last night. Had the usual sore arm but racked with aches and pains this morning. First time I have had a headache in over three years.
Having to hand off our wreath laying duties for Bosom Friends and the branch Labour Party to others. We don't think that standing around outside for and hour an a half or so is a particularly good idea.

Hope you are both soon over it, and ignore this if your not comfortable 'sharing' (dreadful word but popular), but were your booster jabs the same make as the first two?

Thanks everyone, we are both feeling a bit better my recovery a bit quicker than Sally's as she has a compromised immune system.
We had 2 x Astra Zeneca originally and the booster was Pfizer.
Hoping to sleep better tonight.

That was my combo as well. Hope Sally gets over it soon. Isn't it funny how some react and some don't....

Ours too, but we're all different. Glad to hear you're getting over it and that Sally catches up with you quickly. Take it easy.
