Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday the rain was intermittent during the afternoon, at 17:00 we just had drops blowing in the wind. It has rained during the night but this morning it is just windy, overcast and damp, not actually raining. The glass has risen slightly to 981mb and the forecast is a safe one, they are forecasting bright overcast, sunny spells and intermittent showers. Storm Bert is still with us, the constant WSW wind will be strong gusting to over 45mph and giving us a high of 8C and a low tonight of 2C with a wind chill of -5C for most of the day. The outlook is for 3 bright sunny dry days and then on Friday we drop back into warmer overcast weather with a good chance of rain.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
I got up after second sleep and thought I'll go to the Co-op for my tomatoes while it's dry. I put on my waterproof just in case and it was a good job I did. Half way up the back street and the skies opened. we had a cold heavy sleet/rain shower. Deep Joy! Never mind I am back in the warm and I have my tomatoes!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday we were still feeling the affects of storm Bert, the afternoon was blustery and felt on the verge of rain. This morning it was breezy, overcast and there was evidence of rain during the night. The glass is up on 1003mb and rising The forecast is for light showers until dawn and then a dry day with sunny intervals until this evening. The constant SW winds are moderate and give us a high of 7C and a low of 1C tonight with a -3C wind chill for much of the day. The outlook is for two more days similar to today and then a spell of warmer wetter weather from Friday onwards.

It threw it down in the night, and I heard it this time. It’s dry at the moment, and is supposed to stay that way, but I have to admit it doesn’t look like it, we have some heavy cloud floating about.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon stayed dry but cold and we settled into a clear cold night. First thing this morning we had broken cloud and it was dry but cold. It's the same now but with heavier overcast. The glass is up on 1012mb and the forecast is for the overcast to lift as the morning progresses and by noon we will have full sun until dark and then a clear night. The northerly winds will be light and give us a high of 6C and a low of -5C tonight. The wind chill will peak at -3C. The outlook is for tomorrow to be similar to today and then over weekend some warmer and bright weather. (We could see a tropical 12C!) I've seen a hint of another storm named Conan......

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
The corduroy trousers lost a useful amount of water but definitely didn't dry! From the news it appears we were very lucky, there was some very heavy rain in the South brought in by storm Carron.
Yesterday the afternoon was calm and overcast but it stayed dry. We had a clear cold night and first thing this morning it was calm clear and cold. It hasn't changed since. The glass has risen to 1022mb and the forecast is for a sunny dry day. The constant ESE wind will be light all day giving us a high of 5C and a low of 3C tonight. We will have a -3C wind chill for most of the day which means the perceived temperature will be below freezing until late morning. The outlook is for three bright and much warmer days, 12C on Sunday! Then back to more seasonal single figures and heavy overcast.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
We’ve had a hard frost, the sky is clear, the sun is out, bitterly cold, but the makings of a lovely day. I’ve hung some washing out, fingers crossed the sun gets most of the wet out, it’s bedding stuff so it should.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon was bright and cold, lovely walking weather for the young ones but too cold for crumblies like me. I enjoyed it through the window! The night was clear but in the last hour we have overcast taking over, it isn't as cold as yesterday. The glass is down a touch on 1021mb and the forecast is for a bright overcast day with sunny spells. The southerly winds will be light to moderate giving us a high of 9C and a low of 8C tonight with a wind chill of up to -4C this morning. The outlook is for it to be even warmer tomorrow and Sunday, we are promised 12C and another mild sunny day on Monday but after that back to more seasonal temperatures and overcast skies.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Opened the curtains to a beautiful sunrise, but now we have quite a bit of cloud about. Around 6am it threw it down, so I am reliably informed, I slept through it. Popped my head outside and it is still very cold, and there is something blowing in the air, could be snow, don’t think that is forecast.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon stayed overcast but dry and yes, it was going dark at 16:00. (Hard to think back to when it was still light at 22:00!) The night was overcast and mild and this morning it's breezy and overcast but mild and dry. The glass is down on 1016mb and the forecast is for an overcast day, possibly brightening up a bit in the early afternoon. The southerly winds will be moderate all day giving us a high of 13C and a low of 11C tonight with a -3C wind chill all day. The outlook is for a similar day tomorrow with perhaps a light shower. After that we go back to cooler overcast weather....

I always check our barometer against the reading for Ronaldsway on the IOM but for the last two days there have been no reports and this morning Ronaldsway wasn't even mentioned. Not necessarily significant but it has been noted.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
We are very short of it at the moment Cathy!
Yesterday afternoon the overcast persisted and it felt on the verge of rain but it never happened. We had some clear skies during the night but this morning first thing it was breezy and overcast but dry. I have just had a look and this hasn't changed yet but the forecast promises us heavy rain starting about now and lasting until 10:00. The glass has fallen again to 1010mb. The constant southerly winds start brisk, gusting to almost 40mph, and then reduce to moderate for the rest of the day giving a high of 13C and a low of 5C tonight with a -3C wind chill this morning. The outlook is for brighter but cooler weather for the next three days and then we can expect overcast and showers.
