Back in January we had a few days away at Thoresby Hall Hotel in Sherwood Forest. It was a bit chilly but the walk around Thoresby Park was well worth wrapping up for

It’s the last few days of their 5 week holiday in NZ’s South Island. They had a morning’s trip out on the boat, seeing and touching the Tasman Glacier Icebergs.
They have filled every day with exploring and adventures.

We’ve just come back from a Caribbean cruise. Whilst we were there I posted something on here, and one of you lovely people asked me about it. I can’t find the request nor can remember who added it. 🙄😬😂

Leeds on the train. A bit of a pilgrimage to have look at the quilts that were put together to celebrate the contributions of all the women that sewed PPE for the hospitals during the pandemic when the government fell short on supplying the essentials. "The Yorkshire Scrubbers" as they were self named produced thousands of sets of hospital scrubs, theatre hats and laundry bags.

At the end of the scheme the women were asked to produce an individual panel of their own design. Over 440 were returned and turned into two large commemorative quilts which are now housed and featured in the front foyer of the Leeds City Museum. A book about the exploits of the volunteer army of women that had the skills and stepped up when required, which includes images and accreditations to all of the individual panels was produced and published. A copy of the book is held in the gift shop and women who contributed are encouraged to visit and sign against the images of their particular panels. Sally took her Luna Rabbit who is also in the book. She produced and dressed him in a full set of hospital scrubs which she made out of the scraps from the sewing marathon for the real items.

We had a brew and a cake at the museum cafe then looked round all the various exhibits. A bit of shopping on the way back down from the Headrow and then back down to the station. Skipton train was already in and we only had 10 minutes to wait before it set off back. We had to park on the canal side car park up in Skipton as there wasn't a single space in the railway car park when we arrived at 10.15 this morning!

But we keep getting reports of the drops in numbers taking the train Ian. :biggrin2:
Sounds like a good trip. Did Sally's rabbit stay with the quilt?

The Aire corridor train between Skipton and Leeds is always well populated the smaller towns and villages on the route are all commuter territory. A lot of kids use it for school college and university as well.

No her rabbit came home with her but she has a photograph of him sat on the book along with his feature image.

I'm following the lead of the newly rebranded Brecon Beacons National Park and removing the word beacon because its bad for the climate and has vague connotations of Empire.....

Of course!! I should have remembered. That's very witty but don't keep on doing it for me, I couldn't care less....
(Mind you I see our Leader has said he is going to ignore the change of name.....)

Prairie Sports Centre at Burnley to blood donors. Bit of a small venue about half the size of Rolls ballroom with nowhere to sit except the corridor outside the hall. Wont be booking there again.

Is there a Tripadvisor or Trustpilot, for blood donor venues? Sounds like there needs to be. . .

Skipton and back on the bus to get some new walking trainers. Outward on the M5 direct bus (replacement for the Whizz). A quick visit to Sports Direct and the 280 back to Barlick via Earby was waiting for me by the time I got back to the bus station. I set off at 13.12 from Barlick and was back by 14.40, job done.
