It was only a cheap runaround, just a bit put out that I put it through the MOT in January...

If anyone wants a 2005 Ford Mondeo 2.0tdci Ghia for not a lot of money :-). Worst case scenario is a new set of injectors at around £100 a piece...

Lunch out with my old sewing group, afternoon helping at the hospice shop, this evening is freestyle yoga, a rather energetic form of yoga. In between I may grab a few minutes to do some sewing. I have a lesson next Tuesday but my progress is a bit slow, as I have been diverted by my making a summer dress for Erin.

Sue, be careful with the freestyle yoga! I remember a friend of mine who taught primary school getting a torn Achille's tendon, she had been showing the kids how to be a tree in dance class.....

Interesting Wendy. Off to Lincoln to see our friend Audrey who used to live in France. On our way back we are calling to see my aunt in Newark, whom we haven't seen since Mums funeral in 2001

I was dealing with them last week. Seems they don't hold pre WW11 electoral rolls, so I shall have to remain in ignorance. They dealt with my query well though.

Did they give you any clues to where you could find them Tripps? The West Yorkshire ones for this area are available on Ancestry and come in very handy at times. The 1939 Register on Find My Past is an extremely useful resource too.
We had an interesting day, well worth the trip to Preston.

This what they said. I'm assuming the second reference is also Middleton only. I checked on 1939 when it first emerged, and would you believe it - the house of interest was not on the list whilst every other one was.

Your enquiry has been passed to us here at Lancashire Archives.
Chadderton was in the Middleton & Prestwich Division, constituency 1918-1948.
Very few electoral registers survive for the 1930's in Lancashire. We have:

EL 5/1/10: Persons entitled to vote at Parliamentary Elections in force 15 October 1934-14 October 1935 (Middleton only)
EL 5/2/10: Persons entitled to vote at Parliamentary Elections (in force) 15 October 1939 – 14 October 1940

You are more than welcome to come and look at these. Information about visiting us can be found

That's a very generous offer. Can I send you the detail in a personal message? I'm uneasy about giving personal info on a public site. Nothing to hide - it's just me.

All well taught by a fully trained and properly approved teacher Stanley. The technique is to build up slowly over time and only do what you are capable of. Improvement is very visible after about 5 sessions.
