Yesterday it was daylight much longer than of late and it was a nice change. This morning the sky was still clear first thing but now we have a breeze and it's starting to cloud over. The glass has risen to 1014mb and is tending to fall. The forecast is for wind and heavy rain all day. The southerly wind is going to be brisk all day gusting to over 50mph. We can expect a high of 10C and a low of 7C tonight with a wind chill of -5C for much of the day. The outlook is for better weather, bright, dry and mild for February. Things could be worse!

The day started overcast with a light breeze, it’s now beginning to rain and the wind is becoming blustery.

Yesterday afternoon the wind and rain started to slack off and sometime during the night we lost both. This morning it's calm and dry with broken cloud overcast. The glass is down on 1002mb and tending to fall. The forecast is for a dry bright day with the chance of a light shower early and late. The mainly SW winds will be moderate and gust to 35mph giving us a high of 10C and a low of 3C tonight with a -4C wind chill for much of the day. The outlook is for slightly cooler weather but mostly bright and dry.
Later, listening to the general forecast we are having a far better day than the south which is getting very heavy rain as the front that affected us yesterday moves out to the SE....

Been out for a walk, it’s sunning, just a tad of a nip in the air, but it’s very pleasant.

Yesterday afternoon managed to stay bright and dry with just a rogue shower in the late afternoon. We had broken cloud as overcast during the night and that was still the case first thing this morning but it was dry and breezy. It hasn't changed. The glass is up on 1005mb and the forecast is for an overcast start and then showers and sunny intervals until this afternoon when it dries up and we end the day with bright overcast. We shall have a moderate WSW wind all day and this allows us a high of 7C and a low of 2C tonight with a wind chill of -4C for most of the day. Tomorrow will be a wet windy day, after that it gets warmer, brighter and drier for the foreseeable future. Remember the old saying, March comes in like a lion but goes out like a lamb! We shall get a chance to see if that's right!

Yesterday we ended the day with full sun as per the forecast. It was mostly clear and dry through the night and this morning first thing we had broken overcast, a light breeze and it was dry. It's still the same but could change shortly. The glass is on 1009mb and falling and the forecast is for it to start raining very soon and after an initial period of heavy rain until about 09:00 we will have sunshine and showers for the rest of the day. The mainly SW winds will be light to moderate and we can expect a high of 7C and a low of 0C tonight with a -4C wind chill for much of the day. The six day forecast is for slightly warmer bright dry weather. March could be coming in like a lamb!

Yesterday stuck to the forecast. We had an afternoon of sunny intervals and loose showers, it was still like that at dusk. The night seems to have been dry and this morning is clear, dry and we have a light breeze. The glass is up on 1013mb and rising. The forecast is for a bright sunny day. The westerly winds will tend to the north at times during the day and will be moderate. We can expect a high of 8C and a low tonight of -3C with a wind chill of -3C for much of the day. The outlook is for similar dry bright weather and possibly getting a little warmer.

Yesterday afternoon stayed clear and it remained clear during the night, hence the frost we are having. This morning first thing it was calm, clear and cold and has stayed the same. The glass is well up on 1025mb and still tending to rise. The forecast is simple, clear and sunny all day. The constant light westerly winds allow us a high of 9C and a low tonight of -3C with only a -1C wind chill so it will feel like a nice day after the early frost has burned off. A good introduction to meteorological Spring! The outlook is for similar dry bright weather apart from Monday which might be overcast but on the whole the temperature is rising. It feels as though we might have wintered......
Later at 08:00. We have frost and fog.

BBC News North West at 1830 ran the Stanley/Daniel Meadows feature again. The local weather though didnt pick up on showing Barnoldswick with Burnley the westernmost part of East Lancashire getting a temp forecast. Maybe it is better to be off the map

Yesterday afternoon didn't disappoint, it stayed bright until it went dark. This morning it's clear, calm and cold, we have a frost. The glass is up on 1028mb and tending to rise. The forecast is for another sunny day. The mainly WSW winds will be light and allow us a high of 9C and a low tonight of 3C. The wind chill will occasionally be -3C but negligible for some of the day. The outlook is for similar weather, perhaps more overcast but getting warmer with it.

Yesterday we had a heavy mist till late morning, then a fine, clear day. This morning we have had a light frost, and what looks like the makings of a lovely day.

Yesterday afternoon we lost the sun but it was still bright overcast and dry. It was light until after 6PM, it doesn't seem long since it was starting to go dark at 3pm! An overcast night means that we don't have a frost this morning. First thing we had a clear sky and it was calm and dry, still calm and dry but the cloud has rolled in and it's overcast. The glass is steady on 1032mb and the forecast is for a dry day and overcast but with sunny intervals. The constant WSW wind is light to moderate and gives us a high of 9C and a low tonight of 3C with a -3C wind chill this afternoon when the wind is strongest. The outlook says we shall have a dull overcast day tomorrow but after that we can expect sun and warmer temperatures. It's all looking good for March so far!

I've just seen your post Cathy. That's far to warm for us.... We might get into double figures later next week!

I have been for a walk and a couple of cupboard fillers from the Co-op. No sun but no wind either so it's a very acceptable morning.

Definitely an improvement Gloria. :good:
Yesterday afternoon continued as mainly bright overcast with only occasional glimpses of the sun. It was light until well after 18:00 Overcast during the night and the same this morning but dry and accompanied by a light breeze. The glass has fallen back to 1025mb and the forecast is for an overcast day but mainly dry. Just a remote chance of a light shower. The constant moderate WSW wind gives us a high of 8C and a low tonight of 3C with a low of -4c occasionally but -3C for most of the day. The outlook is good, mainly dry bright and sunny and getting warmer.....

Yesterday afternoon remained overcast but dry. First thing this morning we had broken cloud overcast, a light breeze and it was dry. Since then the sky has cleared. The glass is down slightly on 1023mb and the forecast is for a clear day with full sun. The constant mainly WSW wind is light to moderate and around midday could gust to almost 35mph. We can expect a high of 9C and a low tonight of 2C with a wind chill that could reach -4C around midday when the wind is strongest. The outlook is for warmer, dry, bright weather. Quite good actually. This and better will do!
