Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon the light rain showers eventually hit us around 15:00 as forecast. The main story was the wind which persisted all night and is still a feature of the weather this morning. It's overcast but dry and we have a strong gusty wind. The glass is on almost 1011mb and rising. The forecast is for a bright sunny day and clear skies tonight. The mainly WNW winds are brisk and gust to well over 40mph until this evening when they start to subside. We can expect a high of 13C and a low tonight of -1C under clear skies. The wind chill will be -4C for much of the day, occasionally -5C. It will never feel warm. The outlook is excellent, warmer and plenty of sun all week.

We had very strong winds thru the night too, very noisy..
All calm today and we have 23C. The temps for the coming week are getting better and better.
I will be out and about more this week.

Your 'better and better' means falling. Ours means rising! But still nowhere near as warm as yours..... Enjoy it Cathy!

Just been out for a walk, and it is very breezy, the sun has warmth in it, but the wind is chilly, still it stayed fine.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon stayed dry but that wind was cold. It started to subside around 16:00. It stayed light much longer of course after the clock change and the sky was clear all night. This morning it's calm, clear and mild. The glass has risen strongly to 1025mb and the forecast is for a mild, sunny dry day. The mainly SW wind is very light and we can expect a high of 1`6C and a low of 3C tonight with negligible wind chill all day. The outlook is for similar weather with wall to wall sun all week. April is looking good!

We’ve no sun, no breeze, no rain, in fact the weather is doing nothing. Been for a walk and needed a fleece, but it was comfortable enough.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Blocking highs for the next 10 days or so, winds from NE at best bringing a little drizzle
Met Office has told us one of the driest Marches in England and Wales and I don think Scotland was much wetter. Is this going to bring problems for tree stability and farming yields this summer and again winter has not really killed off insects. Unless the weather deviates from the expect sun warm sun maybe a little chill in the wind I wont bother with reporting londons SW weather unless anything odd gets noticed

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afterno0on eventually brightened up but the main advantage of the day was the lack of wind and the fact it was dry. We had a clear night and this morning the glass is steady on 1025mb with a forecast of a day of full sun. The easterly wind start light but become moderate later and could gust up to over 30mph this afternoon giving us a high of 14C and a low tonight of 2C. There will be a wind chill of -3C for most of the day. The outlook is for similar dry sunny weather for the next six days....

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
We have brilliant sun and hardly any wind at the moment so it's very pleasant out there. I have just got home and sat down after getting my Covid booster and the heavy end of my veggies from Gulam in the Town Square. I deserve a rest, my leg has been a bugger this morning....

The Pennines must be blocking the easterlies which caught me out with a stiff breeze and more forecast for the next couple of days - it often blows along the Thames Estuary right into the London bowl and over the northern and southern heights

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon stayed bright but that East wind was the handicap, it was cutting! We have had a clear night and this morning we have a light breeze and I can see the stars. Venus is particularly bright. The glass is still on 1025mb and once again the forecast is wall to wall sun all day. We have the constant east wind again and it will gust to over 35mph this afternoon. We can expect a high of 14C and a low tonight of 2C with up to -4C wind chill for much of the day. The outlook is unchanged, at least a week of this sunny weather ahead.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon was a rerun of the day before, full sun but a cutting wind. After a clear night we have a cool breeze, a clear sky and it's dry. The glass is down slightly on 1022mb and the forecast is for a clear dry day with wall to wall sun. The east wind is moderate all day gusting to almost 40mph. We can expect a high of 16C and a low tonight of 5C with a wind chill that will peak at -5C this afternoon. Another nice day spoiled by the wind. The outlook is for similar weather, warmer tomorrow but after that a touch cooler.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was another re-run of the day before. A sunny afternoon but a cutting wind even stronger than Wednesday. We had a clear night and this morning it's breezy and we still have a breeze. The glass is down a touch on 1021mb and the forecast is exactly the same as yesterday, full sun but a wind chill with it. The east winds will be moderate and gust to almost 40mph after dinner. We can expect a high of 17C and a low of 3C tonight with a wind chill that again will reach -5C this afternoon. The outlook is unchanged, settled dry sunny weather with similar temperatures.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was yet again, a rerun of what we have been having all week. The afternoon was possibly slightly less sunny but we had clear skies by nightfall and all night. This morning it is breezy and clear, we have a frost. The glass is steady on 1022mb and the forecast is for another day of full sun. The east wind is constant and brisk at times. We can expect a high of 13C and a low of 2C tonight. We have a wind chill of -5C at the moment and will have that for much of the day so wrap up warm despite the sun! The outlook is unchanged, similar weather to today for at least a week. It's got to the stage where this cold east wind is holding the grass back.....

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Our weather is never boring but at the moment it's getting very close to it! We still have the blocking highs out to the east and yesterday was a carbon copy of the day before. We had full sun and a cold wind all day. After a clear night this morning It is still clear, breezy and we have a frost. The glass is up a touch on 1023mb and the forecast is for full sun all day. The constant easterly winds are moderate and we can expect a high of 13C and a low of -1C tonight with a -4C wind chill for much of the day. Once more, a chilling wind so wrap up warm.... The outlook is unchanged, wall to wall sunshine for the next week at least. Towards the end of the week it warms up.

We have great temps at the moment , giving us warm enough days and cool nights. Just have to stay out of any wind gusts.
Our growers are desperate for rain and there is non in sight.
Overnight we switched our clocks back 1 hour.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was another re-run. We had sunshine until late and one more, that wind was cold. The sky was clear all night and this morning it is the same, we have a breeze and I suspect another grass frost. The glass is up slightly at just below 1025mb and the forecast is for full sun all day. The constant easterly winds will be light and allow us a high of 13C and a low of 0C tonight with a wind chill of -3C for most of the day. The outlook for the week is unchanged, lots of sun and slightly warmer temperatures. No sign yet of April showers..... (They'll be telling us shortly that we have a drought.....)

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was another bright day and a touch warmer in the afternoon as the wind was lighter. Clear skies overnight and this morning as well. There will be a slight frost later on but less than we have been having of late. The glass is steady on 1025mb and the forecast is for full sun all day. The constant easterly winds will be light giving us a high of 15C and a low of 1C tonight with a -2C chill now and until 07:00 when it settles down to -1C all day. It will feel warmer today.... The outlook is unchanged apart from getting warmer until next Sunday when it cools slightly and on Monday the forecast is overcast and rainy. That will be a change!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Posted in mid March - and strangely prophetic. . .
And so it came to pass. I heard this morning on the Radio (BBC I think), that March 2025 has been the warmest March since records began.
I'll do a 'confident Victor Meldrew' on that.
