Earlier this morning I felt cold and told myself I was mistaken and feeling soft..... Then I realised the CH had come on! The thermostat must have been feeling soft as well....

Yesterday the afternoon brightened slightly but at the expense of two or three light showers before some hazy late evening sunshine coming in under the clouds. This morning there is less wind but it's overcast and raining and cool enough to trigger the CH. The glass is up on 1006mb and rising. The forecast is for sunshine and showers until mid-afternoon. After that the overcast and the rain get heavier. The constant WSW wind will be brisk and gusts to almost 40mph for much of the day allowing us a high of only 13C and a low tonight of 7C with a -4C chill for much of the day. The outlook is unchanged, cool broken weather, very similar to today.

According to my phone we are due to enter a heatwave by this weekend, all of 23 degrees! Sensationalised more by remarking that the "heatwave", (if it can be described as such), will reach as far north as Yorkshire! Such is the North / South divide. Must resist using all our sun tan cream before we get to Rhodes :extrawink:

I'm surprised they weren't completely empty Wendy. It's been a long time since we had steady significant rain like we were getting yesterday afternoon.
Yesterday afternoon we had our most significant rain for almost two months. It was windy as well. Once again it felt cold to me and sure enough, this morning the CH is on. It is windy and overcast but we don't have rain. The constant westerly winds will be brisk, gusting to almost 30mph until late this afternoon. The glass is on 1003mb and the forecast is for bright spells until mid morning when it will start raining again and that will persist for the rest of the day. We can expect a high of 13C and a low of 8C tonight with a -3C wind chill for most of the day. The outlook is for it to be a bit warmer for the rest of the week but a rainy day on Thursday before brightening up for the remainder of the week.

After a full-on Thunderstorm and Lightning Storm, with lots to Rain last night, we are all calm today. ☺️
Lots to clean up today, even in my little gardens, and one of our main Jetty’s took a battering.

Yesterday the bright spells soon vanished and we spent the rest of the day under an overcast sky with long periods of significant rain, it had started raining again at 19:00 and we had no late sun. This morning it's calm, overcast and we have a suspicion of rain in the air. We will have overcast and showers until early afternoon when it will dry up and we could see some sun. The glass is up on 1006mb. The constant westerly winds will be moderate by noon and will gust to 30mph. We can expect a high of 16C a low of 10C tonight and a chill of -3C for much of the day. The outlook is for similar weather but slightly warmer except for tomorrow when we can expect significant rain.....
Later at 06:15. Not on the hymn sheet but it is a bit misty....

Yesterday afternoon was quite bright and we had late sun coming in under the overcast. This morning we had heavy continuous rain, the heaviest I have seen for months, it has slackened off a bit now but is still raining. Th glass is on 1011mb and falling rapidly. The forecast is for heavy rain until mid-afternoon and overcast after that. The WSW wind will be brisk gusting to 40mph and we can expect a high of 16C and a low of 13C tonight with a chill of -4C for much of the day. Expect another overcast wet day tomorrow and then an improvement with drier sunnier weather and better temperatures.

Yesterday afternoon was drier and brighter but we still had some scattered showers. No late sunshine under the cloud. This morning it's breezy and overcast but mild and not raining. The glass is back up on 1011mb and the forecast is for the overcast to lift around midday and a sunny end to the day. The constant WSW wind will be brisk all day gusting to 35mph and allowing us a high of 18C, a low of 9C tonight and a wind chill of -4C for much of the day. The outlook is for brighter weather but perhaps scattered showers and slightly cooler. Not Flaming June yet!

Yesterday eventually relented and gave us a sunny afternoon with late sun under the scattered clouds at dusk. This morning it's calm and clear. The glass is up on 1015mb and the forecast is for an unsettled day of sunshine, showers and spells of heavy overcast. The mainly WSW winds will start light, become moderate and gust to almost 40mph. We can expect a high of 19C, a low of 10C tonight and a wind chill of as much as -5C this afternoon. The outlook is for cooler, showery and brighter weather.

Yesterday the forecast was correct in that we had some very heavy overcast particularly in the afternoon but though threatening they never developed into rain. It remained overcast until dark, no late sun. This morning we have 100% overcast and heavy rain, the forecast says we are having a dry morning with broken overcast, it was wrong! But I have had another look and now it has fallen into line, stopped raining and we have broken cloud. The glass is steady on 1008mb and the forecast is for a day of sunshine and showers. The westerly winds will again be brisk and gust close to 40mph for much of the day giving us a high of 16C and a low of 6C tonight with a wind chill of -3C for most of the day, peaking at -4C at times. The outlook is for similar broken weather and certainly no warmer.

Looks like we have had a light shower overnight, but this morning it is fine with broken cloud about, some of which looks as though it is carrying rain.

The sun is warm but the strong breeze is chilly. We are expecting showers this morning, hopefully nothing like yesterday when we had a torrential shower almost out of the blue. I was trying to get all my grass cut, felt a few drops of rain just before 3pm and decided it was time to retreat for a cuppa. By the time I got inside it was absolutely lashing down, even overwhelming the gutters. Luckily it didn't last long and I was able to get the last section of mowing done.

Just been for a walk and across the Ribble valley on the Blackburn side it looked to be throwing it down. We just had the odd drop as we returned home after half an hour.

Yesterday afternoon the very dark overcast threw a shower here in Barlick. The overcast broke as dusk approached and tried but failed to allow us late sun. It was lighter at 22:00 than it was at 20:00. This morning we have a light breeze and broken overcast but no rain as yet. The glass is up on 1011mb and rising. The forecast is for a dry and increasingly sunny day. The westerly winds are moderate all day and slightly less gusty than of late. We can expect a high of 16C and a low tonight of 9C with perhaps a -3C wind chill at times this afternoon. The outlook is for slightly cooler weather with sunny intervals and perhaps the occasional shower.
Later at 05:00. The central heating is on, I thought it felt ccoler in the house!

Yesterday afternoon was full sun and we had late sun right up to sunset. (it's hard to remember the winter afternoons when it was going dark at 15:00 when no it's light enough to read by until 22:00!) I think it was dry most of the night but this morning we had wind and heavy rain and it is still falling. The glass is down sharply on 997mb and falling and the forecast is for the rain to have stopped by 09:00 and for the rest of the day we can expect sunny spells and the occasional shower. The constant WSW winds will be brisk and gust to very nearly 45mph during the day. We can expect a high of 15C and a low tonight of 7C with a wind chill of as much as -4C this afternoon when the gusts are strongest. The outlook is for similar unsettled weather with a very wet day on Thursday.
