Is it on the wall of a spiral staircase in the tower of a Barlick church?
Oh I like that one.

This is going to be my last and final attempt before I descend into a state of manic depression. What with Holy silences and going round and round its no wonder that a nervous breakdown is on the horizon. So what is this flash of inspiration?
Its the "Tree of Life". with St Peter showing us the way. That is providing its not an apple tree in which case we're all doomed.

Does it relate to a "time capsule"?

Please will some of you Barlickers go out and grab David Whipp and twist his arm until he tells us the solution to this puzzle? He's probably to be found collecting litter somewhere in the parish, or feeding hens, or making a sandy beach...

He's too busy putting up the Christmas decorations...or perhaps he's forgotten the answer to the quiz!

Profuse apologies for leaving you hanging with this one. Our Switch On event consumed my attention over the weekend and Monday morning. When I thought I'd be slackening off, the rain came - generating a fresh set of issues for me to deal with...
I was going to tease you with a picture clue...
But, in view of the threats of physical violence, here's the reveal.
Plaques was getting warm with his reference to St Peter, whose symbol is a key or two crossed keys... though the trees are May trees or Freedon trees. These are shown on the coat of arms of Mayen.
The small monument also bears another plaque...
This has a representation of the Yorkshire Rose and the Lancashire Rose.
And the presence of this triangular stone in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church is explained by the inscription on the third side.
This reads, "To the Rotary Club Barnoldswick & Earby on their 25th anniversary from RC Mayen Germany.... 1988"

This mystery object only applies to those that don't read other threads.

Stop complaining David! It was your suggestion! It's the old outlet pipe from the turbine that at one time drove the Corn Mill in Barlick. It's in the bottom of the beck outside the mill of course. Almost certainly cast at Bracewell's foundry in Burnley around 1860/1870.
Next one?

No complaint Stanley, just a teaser... turbine - and beforehand, Rotary...

Is it the 'masking' put over a drain cover when Leonard Street was resurfaced?

Oooh, you are awful....but I do like you!

It looks like something or somebody is trying to rise out of the tarmac. Did a Barlick gangster get buried underneath when the road was tarmacked?

I don't know about the street but I also think its the white masking used over drains.

Kev and Stanley are correct about drain coverings... and I'd remind members that we don't have gangsters in Barlick!
The location is however on Skipton Road, which was surfaced dressed in 2015.
I finally got the gulley sucker to deal with a number of blocked road drains (gulleys) a few weeks ago and happened to come across them doing the work a few weeks ago. When I showed an interest in what they were doing, they produced the sheet of tar and chippings that they'd removed from the top of a gulley - 15 months after the surface dressing had been done. They also showed me clumps of tar and chippings they'd fished out of the gulleys themselves. All very shoddy!
Last Boxing Day, volunteers cleaned the crap out of the critical gulleys alongside Ghyll Meadows and this was subsequently followed up by Rolls kindly providing jetting for the drainage network in that area. Shame that the county council couldn't clean up after themselves when they did the job.
Here's the gulley sucker in action - I think the drain they were working on was marked up for jetting or a dig down as they couldn't get it working...
