That's his purpose in life, Ian. Any guesses as to how he does it?

Does he put the money down the chimney while he raises the other arm to ring his bell?

I think you all deserve the full story now. It would be easier to say what this Santa doesn't do than what he does! The box tells the story. I still don't know for sure where the money goes but Wendy is probably right in suggesting you drop coins down the chimney. Perhaps Theresa May with have an `initiative' to give these out to children to have them start saving for their pension, care and nursing in old age!

It's a tundish for the treacle miners at Sabden.

Is it something to do with lead pouring/wiping?

Had another thought and realised that there are 4 lobes on it. I've an idea we've seen it before and it was something to do with a milking machine.

Her memory hasn't failed her. It was part of the stand on which the milking cluster hung when not in use.

Sorry no. Yes it looks like an olive for a pipe joint but nothing to do that. Forget pipes, think specialised bearings...... you have all seen them......

Gloria is in the right area with doors. Concentrate on that and think of old cars. I shall come clean tomorrow if you don't get it. They were in full view and you've all seen them.
