Eggs and bacon for breakfast and the last of the week's cooking for tea leaving an empty fridge ready for a fresh start. I have next week's cooking planned for already! It will have plenty of good slow cooked meat, the cheapest cuts and lots of vegetables.

Egg and bacon for breakfast and steak pudding and peas for tea.
I have got a pound and a half of shin beef and will build an old-fashioned Lancashire Hot Pot in a cast iron casserole tomorrow. Just in time for the fall in temperature and a temporary return to winter!

Egg and bacon for breakfast and a funny tea, I fancied a 200gm pot of roll mop herring and filled up by picking on half a small barbecued chicken. A little of what you fancy does you good!
Cooking today, I must build a Lancashire Hot Pot the old fashioned way, in a heavy cast iron pot.

Steak pudding and peas for breakfast and snacking at teatime. I wasn't particularly hungry. I stewed some tart plums because I have some Jersey cream Kath has sent me but in the end didn't fancy them. I shall be more positive today!

Hot afternoon so it's sardine salad - posh sardines from Waitrose.

The Elephant Atta arrived last evening and that's a chapatti. Just flour and water - and cooked in the microwave. Room for improvement I'd say, but I've eaten it.

Sardines (and their ilk) are much underrated I reckon David. I often add a tin to Mutton Stew, they definitely make a contribution.
I had steak pudding and veg for breakfast, Wings and veggies for tea and the last of the plums and cream.

Cook your onion gravy long and slow, Stanley. Better taste and less side affects. ( takes me an hour to cook mine...then I leave it to sit and meld...then I reheat it gently)

Bought some fresh fish (Garfish...our favourite!) at the fishmonger today. ( all gutted and cleaned of course). So I have crumbed tonight’s portion and frozen the rest for the same joy another night.
Not too expensive - 2 meals worth for £10. A treat though.

And very good for you. Fresh fish beats frozen despite the cost. The Covid virus has stopped our fresh fish van attending on Thursday and Saturday, I miss it.
