Eggs for breakfast and steak pudding, chips and peas for tea.
I put a blade of mutton in to slow cook for 4 hours. I decanted the gravy into bowls and put it in the fridge overnight to separate the fat. It will get further attention this morning.

Two eggs for breakfast. Tea was a small pork pie with mashed veggies and peas with some gravy from the mutton.
I added onions, chopped tomatoes and some veggies for thickening to the mutton, it will get a spell of slow cooking today and by teatime will be on song.

Our local artisan bakers in addition to their normal sliced and uncut Chia loaves have added a large uncut Chia to the range. Tail end of last week we had run out of the current batch of home baked bread so Sally got one of the new large Chia's. Being uncut it remains fresh very well. She got it on Thursday and today we had two doorstep sandwiches out of it with still a bit left.
For lunch today we had some hard boiled eggs so we made egg mayo for the butties with large sliced vine tomatoes, lot's of pepper and salt, very tasty. I have steak and onions gently bubbling in the slow cooker for tea.

I made several batches of Pumpkin/Spinach/Potato gnocchi...all sealed in food saver bags in the freezer. ( some for when son visits and some for him to take home). I love making gnocchi. Very relaxing.
Fish tonight for us though.

Mutton and veggies cleared that batch up nicely. Butcher's delivery (They are looking after me) late today so I shall grill sausage!

Cauliflowers were £4.50 each for 3 weeks running, Stanley. So we went with out, but this week we have one as they were £1.75.
I hate you for your cheap Cauliflowers!
Still making sure you get your green leafy veg I hope.

Not as much as I should I fear Maz but I haven't died yet! We have the right climate for caulis, you don't. They have gone up a bit here during the dry sunny weather.
Jack's mince is cooking and I have sausages under the grill. There is hope yet for breakfast!

Chicken Curry in the slow cooker, which was to be for tea tonight, but son has offered to shout pizzas. ( decisions decisions!)
So Pizza it is. Curry will taste even better tomorrow, after a night in the fridge. Son goes home in the morning, so he will miss out on the Curry.

You're right about the curry improving Maz. It applies to all stews I think. Another disadvantage of 'fast food'.

Breakfast was a steak pudding and fresh cooked and mashed veggies. Stew wasn't ready so I grilled sausages and had them with veggies for tea. The mutton skirt and ribs I slow cooked were fiddly and incredibly fatty but I de-fatted them and the gravy at teatime to save spending the time on it today. The meat will be superb, cheapest cuts are always the most tasty and worth the trouble.

I’m looking forward to eating very little since son left this morning. Not that I have overdone it in any big way ( I’m very good at pushing my plate away when I have had enough), but son eats such a lot compared to us, that I am sick of the sight of food. His dog eats more than I do!
We did have to do a quick restock shop of veggies to get us through to our normal Saturday shop. After doing the big veg shop in preparation for the weekend, we were down to just 2 carrots and a half a Red Capsicum ( and the fruit bowl was empty too).
We did a long walk this morning too. So back to normal procedures now and we will soon get over sighing at the thought of a meal.
