The last of the veggies for breakfast. I had £5 worth of best mince in the freezer for Jack's weekly food. I cooked it with onions, carrots and the usual condiments and had a small helping for tea.

Thats the problem with the eating out, most restaurants are on limited menus. if the rain abates this afternoon I might risk a 3 mile walk to town and coffee bar eat in eating out on the pavement table.

I don't mind having the same thing day after day as long as it is good! yesterday was another re-run, eggs for brekkers and Jack's mince and veggies for tea. (There was a fiver's worth of best mince, it takes some shifting when combined with veggies.)

Breakfast and tea were small helpings of the last of the mince and veggies. Sausages on the menu today. No butcher this week, they are on holiday so I thing some slow cooked mutton is indicated. I did veggie shopping yesterday and the early Co-op shop will be at 07:00 this morning.

Meal out at Tubbs of Colne. The first for eleven months. Not a swish place to dine, slightly more utility than one would expect and a very echo chamber sort of a building. Tables set in divided sections with full waiter service. Prices higher than the pile it high serve it cheap outlets but the food was individually cooked with lots of spices and herbs which made every fork full different. Two courses were more than ample for us and it was just a shame we couldn't get through it all. Yes we would go there again.

I often feel I miss out by not dining out. I don't trust other people's cooking and am too Covid aware. These are, I admit, limitations.
I had two sausages for breakfast and steak pudding and peas for tea. I'd forgotten I had doubled up on my butcher's order last week because of the holidays and shoved the lot in the freezer! I shall have to catch up.

We haven't dined out apart from the other week when we went to the seaside. That was all very civilised and perfectly managed. We have done a few takeaways from our local suppliers in an effort to give support as well as save the washing up. We have had curries from the Raj on Station Road twice, and mains from McCulloch's on Rainhall Road also twice both of whom delivered in PPE. We have also telephone ordered and then picked up from Usmaniyah on Albert Road. All orders have been excellent and enjoyed, never felt at risk by doing this and glad to have helped out their cash flow in a small way.
I slow cooked some diced beef the day before yesterday which sorted tea that day. I boiled some potatoes as well for mash but kept some back before mashing for a meat and tatie pie which I made for last night. Reasonable size so I have serving for tonight as well.

We've eaten out at the 4Elephants, down here in Foulridge, a few times over the last few weeks, all very organised and there's even a one way system marked out on the floor. Bannisters restaurant, at Boundary Mill, is well organised too, as is Banny's Fish Restaurant.
We've been missing the Hare and Hounds though, the food in there was excellent. The couple who took over, a week or so before everything was locked down, appear to have gone. It's not reopened.

This started on Medical Matters where it had no business to be so I'll put the sequel here.
I've found a Spiraliser on ebay which looks a lot like Sue's expensive Lakeland one but for more sensible money. It's on its way. Can't resist a gadget.
