Dinner was fabulous!
“Full as puddings” now ( though we never eat puddings, desserts or afters).

It's late - but this can't be allowed to go without comment -
T
V bosses are also introducing unappealing British delicacies for the first time for the Bushtucker eating trials, including black pudding, tripe and trotters. A source told The Sun: 'Producers are keen to celebrate British delicacies in the Bushtucker trials - both good and bad, from rough and ready tripe and trotters to traditions, like Black Pudding and rich, Welsh lamb, which non veggie contestants will found mouth-watering after starving on rations for weeks.'
I can't decide of it's 'cultural appropriation' or just plain racist. It'll be the steak pudding challenge next.

Wot no haggis ? (actually I cannot cope with Swede, or Celeriac). White Pudding is odder than Black. I used to like my nams suet bacon and and onion roly poly , dont think i could cope with it now, steamed for half a day in muslin sock or cloth topped pudding basin. Phesent is difficult to eat, I didnt reseal the one I tried had been shot, which had to be removed from the plate as you cut it up - actually I thought that was wrong as I was not used to having stuff served to me that you had to effectively prepare yourself (OK bones out of fish is acceptable to do). I presume Jellied Eels are on too for them.

Sort of Chicken Chasseur with spaghetti. That's Hunters Chicken isn't it?
I couldn't get the image out of my head of a hunter returning from the chase, with his gun casually over his shoulder, and a brace of chickens proudly dangling from his belt.

Steamed Chicken and Salads last night, with Cheese and Beetroot.
Crumbed Fish and Salads tonight.
(Do you need a gun to hunt Chickens, Tripps. Can’t you just chase them round the pen until you catch one?)

Blood Sugar tonight, two hours after Soup, was 6.8. It was a hearty Chicken Soup, with loads of Veg, including Kale and Spinach. And a four inch bread roll, spread with REAL butter. We were both full and satisfied.
Beat that, my fellow Diabetics!

Is it a competition?
I had Spam and eggs for breakfast and fried Spam and fresh cooked veggies for tea. Yes I know, Spam is probably the most heavily processed meat in the world but every now and then I get an urge to taste it again. I remember during the war it was possibly the best tasting thing we had (if you don't count Canadian dried apple rings!)

No it is not a competition, Stanley. It is called being vigilant and taking care of yourself.

Just a wee bit proud of myself I guess. ( I get chuffed by the simple things in life

)
Do you check your blood sugar every day?
I do it because my Neurologist said that the biggest “threat” to spinal nerves ( and eyesight) is high blood sugar. I think you can understand why I have a determined interest to protect both! I have a lot of living to do.
Why is it Stanley, that you are so quick to pounce on me sometimes? You don’t do it with other people on this site. I sometimes get despondent by it. ( we have been here before). Obviously, I irritate you...

There are millions of Type 2 Diabetics who have poor control, or no control at all over their blood sugars...and it is absolutely down to their own failure and lack of diligence.
Are you aware for example, just how many Carbs ( sugars) are in Brown Sauce? It may just frighten you. Some people wouldn’t dream of eating a meal without it. Yet they will swear they eat a healthy diet.
Anyway ( climbing off my Soap Box)....Soup again tonight, but because I am not having a wee bread roll, I’ve thrown some small dumplings in.
