As we seem to be on motor bikes, here are a few...but not mine! I took their photos on a misty day at Lizard, Cornwall a couple of weeks ago.
A MotoGuzzi with a BMW in the background...
and two big Hondas...

There were some really stunning machines. It's a shame the weather was a bit of a let down. I'm sure they'll come again

A news report that London has the highest incidence of TB in Europe. This disease is gaining a foothold again especially amongst immigrants from countries where it is endemic. Doctors have long been asking for health checks on entry to UK.

Anyone catch #R4's #MoreorLess with Tim Hartford (FT)?
He explained about tax evasion and the fact that whilst there may be a small number of wealthy people doing it, the vast majority of self assessment small traders were actually the likely place to realise the most amount of money in lost taxes.
Interesting and quite illuminating.

I was having a look around on Ebay this evening and found an old Streetlife single being sold by a rare music shop. I wish I had some copies left. Nolic

Nice article in BET today about Clarion House Centenary. Why does the name Sue Nike ring a bell? Why wasn't our MP supporting them?

(PS. I did the pic hand held with the new lens for Mrs Nikon. I couldn't have managed it before!)

Another good day for team GB, one thing that stands out is the emotion when they are on the podium, unlike some of the robots from abroad!! And justice at last for poor Shafilea Ahmed, 17 years old and lovely, her body dumped by the roadside like fly tipping, her sin, embracing Western values, how many more will it take before these people accept that this is Britain.

You may remember me trying to get the Co-op to restock my Condor Green tobacco and getting a meaningless form letter.
Here's what I wrote to them this morning:

Steve Murrells, Chief Executive - Food
The Co-operative Group
New Century House
Manchester

Membership number: 633174 9100 1954 4012
Dear Sir,
I am, and have been for over 70 years , a supporter of the Co-operative movement and a customer. I find I have a problem which has not been resolved using your automated 'customer support' service. The only response I received from that source was a 498 word form email which did nothing for my health and temper. I have to tell you that this is the response other customers have had when complaining about the same problem as mine.
One of the items I purchase regularly at your store in Barnoldswick is Condor Green pipe tobacco, it has been out of stock for almost three months. Your staff tell me that the reason for this is that you have revised your ordering system and they can no longer flag up when an item has fallen off the stock list. The result at Barnoldswick is that several items, including best selling brands of cigarettes, are out of stock. If you look at your sales figures you will see the results, these customers are shopping elsewhere. When I told the staff I was going to write directly to you they urged me to tell you that these shortages are damaging customer relations. It was they who told me about other customers complaining via your 'help line' with the same results that I got. I have to tell you that if this is your version of customer service it is about as efficient as a chocolate teapot.
I can of course obtain my tobacco by ordering it on the internet and have already done so but it seems to me that this is a symptom of a wider problem, the gap that is growing between your organisation and its customers. I know that this is not your intention so I am taking the trouble to write directly to you and flag up what is happening on the retail floor.
What I would like is to have a response from you, not some automated system churning out form letters. I would like to carry on getting my Condor Green tobacco from the lovely ladies at the store in Barnoldswick. I would like to be able to report to my friends and readers that the Co-operative actually do care for the needs of their customers.
I'm sorry to have to tell you that the buck stops with you.
Yours faithfully,
I'll let you know if it did any good!

The Colne cyclist and winner of the gold, will apparently be honoured by Pendle Council
However, it looks like Colne will not be getting a Gold Letter Box, as he was part of a team, and thus the lucky box is somewhere near where the whole team train

Good luck with the Co-op letter Stanley, if the CEO isn't galvanised by your masterpiece nothing will move him (until his company collapses from lack of custom). Did I mention that after Mrs Tiz's letter to the CEO of M&S about the failings in their reporting system regarding delivery of goods the `Non-Food Retail Director' left the company? A coincidence? Or were others complaining too?

To quote 'Alice's Restaurant' , if you want to start a movement shout loud! We'll see what the results are, he should get the letter this morning. Nice to know I'm in the same camp as Mrs Tiz, an honour!
