I'll bet they're not the ones that the gastro chefs use. I've never tasted one of them actually, but had many of yours. :laugh5:

You are of course right David. Fried slices of potato cut in a series of disks instead of batons was what my mother called scallops and what's more she often fried them in the bacon fat in the frying pan and they can be a completely different beast than chips.
I had a straight pork pie for breakfast. For tea I used a casserole and slow cooked a rib eye steak with onions, tomatoes and the usual suspects. I had some for tea with peas. It had fallen to pieces in the casserole and was lovely. I think there are probably two helpings left to go with the veggies I shall cook today.

Here is yesterdays tea along with my other baking output. I made two Chia and Sunflower seed loaves, one for use and one for the freezer, then knocked a batch of pastry together. Blind baked the bottoms for the quiche which was cheese, onion, peppers and tomato and the plate pie which is mince and onion from a slow cooked batch I made on Saturday. I had a quarter of my pie with mushy peas. One held back in the fridge for today and two portions have gone in the freezer. Similarly for Sally's quiche.
