Spooky! I had cauliflower, leek and chicken pie with veggies for lunch at Colne yesterday, Spotted Dick and custard for pudding. I had casseroled steak and veggies for tea.
The Cox's Orange Pippins came in this week, my favourite apple. They have had a good year and are superb, really good russet on the skin.

Diced steak, carrots, swede, a small potato, chopped onions, a couple of garlic cloves, salt, pepper and an oxo cube in the pressure cooker for 20 minutes went down well for tea last night. The remains, with the addition of some green beans, will be finished off this evening. This working for a living takes up too much of my day :biggrin2:

I'm on something very similar, but done in a slow cooker. I've never had a pressure cooker.

Half a tray of minced beef, potatoes, carrots and celery small diced, with a chopped onion. An oxo cube, a bay leaf or three, and a slug of Lea and Perrins. Just throw the lot in the pot and switch on. I put several pot towels ove the lid to speed things up. I think that's cheating withn a 'slow' cooker, but I don't care. Near the end add a drop of Bisto to thicken it all.

I'm on the third night with it, and spookily had it with green beans too.

It was my answer to a dental emergency which happened on Friday night. Needed some thing edible with no top teeth. Hopefully normal eating will resume by tomorrow night. Though I'd make it again. :laugh5:

PS I forgot to mention frozen peas and add a couple of slices of diced black pudding. I think that was the making of it.

Presentation could be better but - delicious.

I love my pressure cooker, I had an old one with the weight on the valve to regulate the pressure, I still have it on the shelf in the cellar. I bought a replacement a couple of years ago with a dial on the valve, it's a lovely bit of kit. I've cooked some big bits of beef shin in there for 25 minutes and you could eat them with a spoon :biggrin2:

I've still got one with the weight on the valve, only use it occasionally.
Sorry to hear you were having to manage with some of your teeth AWOL David. It looks as though we were all on stewed steak and veggies in one form or another. I had my steak casserole with wings, onions and tomatoes X two for breakfast and tea.

All fixed now. There will be much gnashing of teeth but no weeping tonight.

Top tip - don't break your denture on a Friday night. . . .

I asked if a stronger material (which I quietly knew was possible) could be used. "Yes" he said "but not on the NHS. It would have to be private, and cost about £900". I said if I was say 20 years younger I'd do it, but I'd take my chance with the Nato Standard for now.

The Bacon, Leek and Potato Soup is gone. I finished it up for lunch today.
Tonight I'm going to make a Chicken and Green Bean stove top hotpot using chicken thighs.

I was going to make a Spaghetti Bolognese but I was out voted 2 to 1.
(my wife gets 2 votes, apparently)

SWAMBO. (She Who Must Be Obeyed)
I had the last of the steak casserole and veggies for breakfast and tea. I have a couple of leeks and potatoes sat in the corner and bacon and butter in the fridge. Guess what!
But today Susan and I go the Colne for lunch. We can't afford the Crown so we will have it in Granny's Kitchen in the market. :biggrin2:

I've not eaten at Granny's Kitchen so don't have a comparison but found the Crown to be very reasonable. Yesterday's lunch, which included a pint of beer each, was £24.

I have to go into town today for the "Full Retail Experience" so I will pick up a pizza on the way home and have a night off from cooking.

Well, although I had a lazy evening having pizza I did prep something for the day after.
I'd bought 4 small pieces of Angus beef that day and I put two of them in the freezer.

The remaining two I thinly sliced into strips and threw them into a zip lock bag containing chopped ginger root and garlic along with balsamic vinegar, soy sauce and roasted sesame seed oil. I also had a jar of sliced Jalapeno peppers so added a few of those along with some of the liquid from the jar. That should pep it up a bit.

I gave it a good squishing around and put it in the fridge to marinade until tonight.

This will form the base of the Beef Stir Fry I shall make this evening. Once heated up I'll add chopped Bok Choy, sliced mushrooms and green beans, stir in some Hoisin Sauce and serve it with boiled Basmati rice.

That sounds edible Mick!
I had a small pork pie and baked beans for breakfast. I cooked veggies at dinner time and also cooked bacon, leeks and potatoes but not as soup. I put the spuds in as chips, cut back on the liquid, topped it off with the carrots and sprouts I had cooked and baked it in a cast iron casserole in the oven. I had some with another pork pie for tea and it is very good indeed. I have some chicken wings to cook to go with it later in the week.

This is how it turned out (before I added the Hoisin Sauce)
There was enough left over to make a lunch "for the lad"

Looks good. Are the mushrooms raw?
I had the bacon leek and veggie bake X two for breakfast and tea. I casseroled the chicken wings with onions and veggies and that will be a topping for the bake today.

No, I cooked it further once the Hoisin Sauce had been added.

We made a big pot of Vegetable Curry last night. Another two dinner dinner.
And, it will be so much better tonight after having 24 hours to "fester" in between :)
