I can't remember where I am at with my Covid.....I have an idea I am up to date, didn't we have a mobile drop in service on the Pioneer Car Park? Flu is on October 9th...... (If Well remembers to get the jabs in!)

I have just been for my short walk, got another bottle of Otex and some whole milk for coffee from the Co-op. Nice out there, I wish I could have sat on traffic duty but I had to carry my phone and get back here In case TalkTalk call!

I have just come down after second sleep and decided that the first order of the new day was to syringe My ears. I haven't done them for two days but done Otex twice a day. I wasn't getting any wax out.
Yippee! I got a considerable quantity of small pieces, some as big as an eighth of an inch across, certainly a good result. Not immediately crystal clear hearing but a definite improvement. I have one thing to be happy about! :biggrin2: :good:
Update ten minutes later after turning the radio on. I can hear clearly through my left ear for the first time in weeks. Such a massive relief!

Hearing almost back to normal.... I shall continue treatment until the Otex is used and after that follow Peter's advice and have a maintenance one drop of oil a day to stop wax hardening.
Looking back |I realise that my ears were giving warning signs but I didn't recognise them.

If you use olive oil in your ears use only olive oil BP (pharmaceutical grade) available for a few quid in a dropper bottle from the chemist. It's highly refined - all other olive oil naturally contains some wax.

I've already got a bottle of Olive Oil BP as they used to call it Peter. I got it a week ago when Well had no Otex.

Asif I didn't have enough on my plate..... Yesterday while putting my chop saw away (an awkward lift) I damaged something in my right shoulder and it's given me a bad night and isn't helping now. Don't bother getting old, I sometimes wonder if it's worth it! I think an addition to my signature is called for.....

My shoulder is painful enough to contribute to making life miserable at the moment!
(But on the positive side my ears are fine, I am doing the one drop of oil a day maintenance Peter!)

I am keeping the pain from my right shoulder in check with paracetamol. Not ideal when I am using a mouse so much in my present TalkTalk problem.

I'm on paracetamol too unfortunately. Very impressed with Barnoldswick Medical Centre today. Called at 11am, had a return call from a doctor at 2pm. A face to face with the same doctor at 4pm and a referral, to the DVT clinic, made while I was there. I should expect a call tomorrow :good:
Can't fault the service.

As long as my symptoms don't get any worse I can avoid a trip to urgent care at Burnley :biggrin2:

Me too, apparently it's unusual to get a DVT while taking blood thinners.

Me too Wendy, I'm hoping it's just Post Thrombotic Syndrome. The DVT from two years ago has potentially damaged the veins in my leg.

I think I have finally turned the corner of a heavy cold which got onto my chest this last week. I have stopped the involuntary coughing which is good as my ribs were starting to ache. Hopefully I should be OK for when we go to friends on Sunday for a meal and a get together.

I now have a black moon-like crater on my head about an inch in diameter. The `skin lesion' protrusion (hyper actinic keratosis) was removed at the hospital with local anaesthetic. It was scraped off with a curette, a `sharp spoon-like instrument', and then electrical heat burns the surface of the underlying tissue, hence the black crater. They have a mini vacuum cleaner to suck away air and prevent you smelling your own burning skin! It was done just before I went on holiday - I'd already had to wait 2 months for the appointment so I didn't want to have a further delay. The weather was wet and cold enough for me to wear a hat all the time outside, so I didn't frighten any children! :laugh5:

Glad it went OK Peter. Join the crater club, I have three, two for the original access for my crainiotomy to evict "Darth" and a third for the drain for a few days. My grandchildren think I look like a bowling ball. :laugh5: :extrawink:
