The thought that keeps recurring in my mind is thank God he has got you...... I'm glad you have had a bit of respite and hope it continues. Look after yourself, you are the most important part of his support team! Big hug from Stanley.... XXX

Col was discharged from Airedale yesterday afternoon after a long wait for his meds to arrive from the pharmacy. He is weak from spending 6 days in hospital with very little sleep but I'm sure he will pick up now he is home.

Good news Wendy, but don’t forget to look after yourself as well, it’s easy to ignore that when something like this is going on. Hugs xx

We saw the oncologist at Airedale yesterday and Col (who has recovered well from his infection) has agreed to continue with the palliative chemo treatment. Targeted drug therapy is going to be added in, which is good news, as that can continue whereas the chemo is limited to 6 cycles. We have been visited by District nurses and Olga from the East Lancs Palliative Care Team. Its all go. Just heard he has an appointment for an ECG in Airedale this afternoon as the targeted drug can stop your heart pumping. :surprised:

You sound a bit more cheerful Wendy..... I hope your optimism is well founded. Please give Col my best wishes.....
It goes without saying that you get them as well and at the same time a big virtual hug! XXX

I'm not sure that optimistic is the right word Stanley, though I'm certainly feeling more positive knowing that all the support is in place for when we need it.
