I love the fact that four clerics carried four candles at the head of the processional at his memorial service. Nice!

Once death occurs, suffering is for those left behind. Charlies parents and others who loved him will have to work their way through an anger phase as part of their grieving, I hope the right help is available to them without the media trying to get yet another piece of them.

I have always believed that there is a time to stop fighting the inevitable, let go and direct all your energy to supporting the patient and those around you who are also affected and perhaps haven't had your life experience. That applies to my death as well, I have been preparing my kids for years.....
