Took advantage of the, buy one get one half price, full English breakfast offer at Bannister's Restaurant in Boundary Mill. It was very nice :good:

I had the Grandpa's Breakfast in the Market Cafe at Colne on Wednesday. Minus the bread it's not a bad low carb meal.... Yesterday was a quiet day and I had my chicken and veggies X three for breakfast dinner and tea.
( Nice shirt Kev....)

So have mine and now I have my new strides, so I am in heavy cord trousers as well!

I had the last of the chicken and veggies and had to grill some sausage to bolster last night's tea and this morning's breakfast. Today will have to be a cooking day.

Yesterday was indeed a major cooking day. At breakfast I had sausage, eggs and baked beans. Dinner and tea was straight veggies.

My chicken and veggies are doing well. I sometimes think I should change my butcher's order but then I remember how much I enjoy a well roasted bird..... :biggrin2:

I had sausage and beans for breakfast, nibbled on sausages for lunch and then had a big veggie cook-in so tea was easy, straight vegetarian!

It should have been chicken and veggies X three again but I fell off the carb wagon at dinner time. I got two small brown baps from the Co-op and made two small bacon butties. Yes, I paid for it with an almost instant reaction but I'm all right now. One of these days I will learn some sense.... :biggrin2:
(I promise I'll be a good boy today......)

Salt and pepper chicken and BBQ rib takeaway this evening. There's no chance of cooking when youngest grandson is here, you need eyes in your backside :biggrin2:

I used to make a pretty good cheese and onion loaf, not made one for a while though. Cheese and jalapeno sounds good.

We got one from Sainsbury's last week and it was very good although rather expensive! I though I would have a go, it uses a mix of Cheddar and Parmesan, egg in the recipe as well. I have had to use jalapeños out of a jar as I couldn't find any fresh ones. I altered the salt content as the peppers were in brine in the jar. It seems to be proving OK so we will see.

I should add that the recipe was an American one so used their rather arbitrary cups and tablespoons. Their cup measure depends on what you are measuring and there is no standard size so I have done it on as near as dammit basis and adjusted by experience the dry and wet components until the dough looked and felt right. :extrawink:

Good stuff. My cheese and onion loaf was a standard white bread but with cubes of Red Leicester and a bit of chopped red onion in at the second proving.

I have seen the "extras" added after the first proving and a YouTube video of a Texan bloke who chucked everything in at the start. I have used the latter. Cheese and jalapeños into the dry mix, then add the water milk yeast and egg. It recommends using a stand mixer and dough hook which is what I did. Should be in the bread thread really but hey ho. I will put a picture up when it's done.

Chicken and veggies for tea, then the last of the veggies with sausage for dinner and two sea bass fillets on offer at the Co-op yesterday with mushy peas for tea. Must cook today!
