Over to Harrogate for a bit o' tea with youngest offspring, took a walk along to The Stray to watch the fireworks afterwards.

Fireworks barely get my attention these days. Not having a dog makes so much difference.

My son's dog is fascinated by them. She was watching those near his house from the window and even went out in the garden. We didn't take her to The Stray with us.

Big Jack the Lurcher also was fascinated with fireworks. He'#d sit and watch them for hours. But most dogs go into melt down.....

At the War Memorial for the 11 O'clock maroon and two minutes silence. A reasonably good turnout to remember the day and the hour.

Card shop after that with Sally to get two sympathy cards for two of her Carleton school friends. Dianne who died of cancer and Sam who was working on a tree on the outskirts of the village when a bough broke off above him and he was crushed. Apart from my Birthday later in the month, November is not a good month for us. Yesterday was the anniversary of me taking the last picture of our Dan when he was last up home and came to the remembrance service with us. Two funerals this week for Carleton friends and then our Dan's anniversary on the 18th.

We went to Clitheroe yesterday curtesy of our free bus pass, only used it once in the 18months we’ve lived here. Lovely trip through lovely countryside. Lunch at Blueberries on the market, excellent food and service, would advise anyone to go there, the fish and chips are the best, and don’t start me on the selection of cakes. Much to be recommended.

Hop on the bus Stanley, it’ll be a nice run from Barnoldswick.

Just under an hour, on the 280, from Fernlea Avenue to Clitheroe town centre.

Yes that's how Susan and I used to go. I wouldn't go on my own these days, I don't think you quite appreciate how frail I am now....
As my dad used to say, "If a dog got this bad they'd take it out and shoot it!" :biggrin2:

We have just had a week in Bali, wonderful, relaxing.

It sounds exotic but it is just a 3 hour 30 mins flight for us from Perth to Denpasar - then 20mins to the resort we stay at. A bit like flying into europe from the UK.

Dont know how to add a picture...........dad help!!!!!!!

To James Bontoft's for my latest eye test, another year has flown by. No alarms and only a slight deterioration..... That's as good as it gets these days.

Used our free bus pass again to Clitheroe, fish and chips in Blueberries, cannot recommend it enough. You need to either book or get there early for lunch, it gets very busy.

I would love to do the same Gloria but have reached the stage now where I am a fall risk and I don't feel safe being away from home without a minder....
It's a reality I have had to get used to.

Across town to our shop to collect the takings for banking. The recent flurry of very fine snow has made getting about a bit easier it gives a bit more purchase for the boots when walking. It will all go bad though if it freezes overnight.

Just picked up my car from Earby and managed to get through the sudden fall of snow, eldest offspring didn't fare so well as he couldn't get up the slope to Coates bridge. It's topped up the covering here in Foulridge.

And it's frozen it hard overnight. There will be many accidents and falls over the next few days. I shall not be going anywhere except back to bed for a Dad Nap!

Had a walk into Colne for a couple of bits from Sainsbury's, it's crisp underfoot. Paulette made use of crampons on her boots.

Well done P. Very sensible.
I haven't been anywhere, I didn't need to. It was high risk for me going out shopping last Tuesday but as it transpired, a very good move. I haven't had to go out since and won't have to until all this nastiness has gone away. I'm unsteady at the best of times, it would be madness for me to go out on this! :biggrin2:
