Scotch egg and veggies X two for breakfast and tea. I had a contraband salad buttie on teacake for dinner sat in the sun in Town square.

Chicken and veggies X three. ( and a pick of the carcass in the afternoon, couldn't resist it!)

Cheese and corned beef toastie (brown bread with seeds), done in the air fryer, for lunch.

Now that's a novelty.

I've tried a toasty in the air fryer, but had to resort to threading two kebab sticks to stop it from coming apart.

Reasonable result though.

I've been using frozen bread which seems to work quite well, 8 minutes at 180C is enough to melt the cheese and give a nice crispy finish with a moist interior. Good use of a spatula makes quick work of turning it over halfway through.

I batch cooked a chilli this afternoon and we had a bowl for tea, the rest is cooling down for the freezer. It was washed down with a bottle of Mcguigan Black Label sparkling Shiraz we were gifted while ago, it was very good. A rich fruity number with a gentle fizz, would certainly drink it again :good:
A bit of research and it's £6 a bottle in Sainsbury's but, unfortunately, out of stock. It is showing as available in Morrisons at £7.50.

Nowt wrong with chicken and veg. It's eaten in various guises fairly regularly here, usually as a curry.
It's salad today, I have an avocado, some mixed leaves, sun dried tomatoes and a selection of cooked meat and cheeses. It'll get washed down with a bottle of Corona lager. It's nearly 11 so it's coffee time, best get the kettle on :good:

Chicken and veggies X three. I was struck this week by how good the leeks are, I must have just cooked them to perfection last week. I shall try to repeat them this week.

Curry and a pint at the Hare and Hounds. Got a bonus, for being in my job for 5 years, so thought I'd spend some of it :biggrin2:

So five years is a long time these days is it Kev?
Mind you, my dad always used to say that five years in one job was long enough. They got used to seeing you coming in the door in the morning and it got to be a case of "Good old *****, give him the dirty job, he'll do it!"

It is in IT. I've stopped looking for 'career advancement' and plan on staying put until retirement, staff retention is pretty good where I work.

Sounds like a plan.... :biggrin2:
Yesterday was chicken and veggies X three and today will be the last of the weeks cooking. Shopping this morning and veggie cooking and butcher's delivery this evening. Tomorrow will be four hour chicken roasting.

Try one of these for a change next week. Stuart will sort one out for you, and it will probably just about fit in your yard. :laugh5:

Looks good doesn't it David..... I am being unadventurous and sticking to my chicken and veggies although I did make savoury steak mince this week instead of the Scotch Eggs....
