Ventured out for some fresh air after 3 o'clock as the wind has dropped a fair bit. A stroll along the canal to bridge 147 and a hot chocolate and carrot cake at Fabello's.

That looks nice Kev. I was afraid of being blown over by a strong gust of wind..... I think I might venture out today!

Last night, Effendi, Turkish restaurant in Skipton. The rest of the trustees gave Sally some vouchers for her birthday. We have been a couple of times before and the food is always excellent.
I had Lamb Beyti which is grilled minced lamb wrapped in Lavash flat bread served on a bed of tomato sauce and drizzled with yoghurt accompanied by a mixed salad of shredded carrots, red cabbage, lettuce and tomato. I had Turkish beer to accompany.
Sally had mixed roasted vegetable Fajitas which were served in a sizzling roasting dish and a basket of fresh Fajita bread. Red wine for Sally.
We didn't have a starter but were tempted by the puddings. Tiramisu for Sally and Caramel Cheesecake for me.

Sainsbury's in Colne, nothing too exciting just that I'm dripping wet. Took advantage of the £1 bus journey, no problem going as the stop is 50 yards from my front door and it was on time. Different story on the way home, the 14:48 from Colne never arrived (no sign of it on the bus app tracker either) and it was a 45 minute wait for the next one. It's only a 25 minute walk, it'll be fine
I am now a drowned rat...

Had a walk around the lower res at Foulridge this afternoon, they've made a good job of refurbishing the pathway between the boatyard and St. Michael's church.

You do lead a hectic life compared to me!
(Or perhaps it's me that is vegetating/stagnating!

This morning, went to Burnley RLFC to watch our Finlay with Wharfedale RLFC taking on some Bunley lads. Before the off they looked a bit bigger than the Wharfedale team but that didn't put the greens off. I think the final score was 12 2 to Wharfedale, most of the action was at the Burnley end. Under 16's play tries, penalties and scrums, No conversions or line outs. one point for each try. Finished as usual with all shaking hands and both teams clapped through opposing side human tunnels. It was bit cold standing about this morning but good to support all the lads.

We have just got back from a few days in Paris, luckily we saw no rain even though it was forecast. A good few days.

There's a lot of work going on, lots of big rocks being put onto the beach. I presume for erosion control.

I have happy memories at Cleveleys during the war. I remember hearing the song 'Don't fence me in' everywhere at the time.

I nipped into Skipton yesterday afternoon too Gloria to visit the art gallery on Victoria Street. They have been holding a Peter Brook event and I have a small collection of his prints. There is very little that I want or need these days but I felt I should treat myself to something special with the money from selling mum's jewellery......and I did! I've bought this one off print, which I'm going to collect on Monday.

That seems to me to be as much an investment as an expense. Very nice Wendy and I feel your mother would have approved.
