Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I had meat and veggies X two for Breakfast and tea but dinner was a Hutchinson meat pie (Would you believe £1.90?) because I bought Mick and Margaret their lunch there and we braved the cold to eat it sat in the Square.
I have decided to start having a snack for dinner. I like my cooking too much and my weight is creeping up again so a bit of a cut back will be a good thing!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Meat and veggies X two for Breakfast and tea. Dinner was 6 small oat cakes with tomato and chicken, part of the new regime to try to curb my weight. I should say that this isn't a current problem, I am taking steps to prevent it becoming one!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Yesterday I had the last two helpings of last week's cooking for breakfast and tea. I didn't have any dinner apart from nibbles as I cooked my veggies. I expect to be back to normal today.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Does this fit in here? Not sure - but there has been much mention of fish and chips recently, and the video gives good pictures of the dish, and Hollingworth Lake near Rochdale, which Sue visits regularly for walks and meals. Looks even nicer than I remember it from a long time ago.
PS I'm amazed to find that The Guardian costs £3 - and it's a myth that F & C was ever wrapped directly in newspaper. There was always a 'liner' between the food and the newsprint. I speak from long experience.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I watched the video David and that's about right, a tenner for fish chips and peas. That's roughly what it costs in Barlick.
You are right about the greaseproof liner for the newspaper wrapped fish and chips and as the bloke says in the film the portions are enormous today compared with what they used to be.
As for the Guardian costing £3..... Unbelievable, I used to walk to the paper shop and get a Guardian every morning and Sunday it was the Observer. That would be over £20 now. That's what I spend on my meat each week.
Yesterday I had chicken and veggies for breakfast and fish and chips for dinner with the kids. I saved half of my fish chips and peas for tea, the portion was so big. By the way, lunch for the three of us cost less than £20. That's a bargain these days!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Yesterday I had chicken and veggies for breakfast and tea but cheated at dinnertime with a fried egg butty. I know that it's against the rules but I'll swear my legs hurt less after some illicit carbohydrates!
I shall be cooking belly pork today to add to this week's cooking. Very appropriate considering the weather!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I will be having a bacon and tomato omelette with a bit of one of the cheeses that we picked up from the cheese emporium and museum off the A65 at Settle. We bought a few variants, cant remember what they all are but we got testers before purchase. All pass with me apart from the blue one that Sally likes.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Its a bit more than a cheese stall Stanley. It is in stone built accommodation with its own car park. It has a cheese vending hall where you get to try before you buy and more cheese rounds than you can poke a stick at. They have a two story history section which shows you all you need to know about the development of the production process. It has it's own lab for nurturing the cultures for the massive range that they make and vend. Oh, and it has a cafe where you can get a brew and be fed as well.
The Courtyard Dairy
Just off the A65 Settle bypass section on the left just before the bottom bend after the Buck Haw junction.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
In the days of underpowered and overloaded wagons Buckhaw Brow used to be a useful indicator for the rest of your journey North. It was the steepest main road hill between here and the North of Scotland.
Yesterday was a chicken and veggies day. Three helpings for breakfast, dinner and tea.
