MYSTERY OBJECTS
Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Are you saying that you freeze it, then use it 'for something' in the fridge?
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
You're getting close Cathy but not quite right, it is used for 'something in the fridge' even if not frozen. You're so close!

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Is it for placing in a portable food container to keep the food cold, or to cool something down quickly in the fridge?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I think I am being too hard on you all. I'll do a pic of it in use and post it tomorrow, nobody has actually got it yet. Look at Cathy's earlier answer, she is so close!

While we are waiting for Stanley's fridge photo try this.
About 7 inch long. What is it, and what is the pattern about?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Well done Cath. Even with it in my sticky little mitt I used to twiddle in over several time to get the name. Used as a fancy book mark. Actually a mirror image.

.Cath if PanBiker is correct, see post below, just have a look at Puzzle Corner it should be dead easy for you..

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Cathy, and I have to say myself seem to be very good at spotting the optical illusion type stuff. I bet she is good at the scatter pages with hidden text and images as well. On the dark side of that gift we are probably more susceptible to subliminal advertising.

Here's the answer. The ice cube makers form the handles on the freezer drawers to save space.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
A good Mystery Object Stanley but you said it was used in the Fridge. You're showing it being used in the Freezer.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
You know what this is of course. But I have a question, historically, what was highly refined and aged Neat's Foot Oil used for as a lubricant?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Well yes Gloria, that's what this product is made for, but I was thinking of a mechanical lubricant for bearings. Sorry if that wasn't clear.....

Clock lubricant?

Locks/padlocks/hinges
Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Making a guess we are talking about bearing lubricant before the modern synthetic ones. I think this Neats foot oil was formulated to be thin when hot for flushing out and thick under normal temperatures so that it wouldn't run out. Old bearing lubrication for old machines.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
China has it. It was the natural oil that clock and watchmakers used. It was refined by leaving it exposed to sunlight in a clear glass bottle for a year, decanting it off the sediment that formed and repeating that for another couple of years....
