Three hot meals of meat and veggies as usual. I think I must be addicted to cooking, I feel the urge to cook a batch of savoury rice. I seem to tolerate that carbohydrate quite well and I do enjoy it.....

Chicken and veg at Chez Kev today. Chicken breast coated in spicy breadcrumbs and cooked in the air fryer, stir fried veg, noodles and an Aldi Katsu sauce. Washed it down with a bottle of sauvignon blanc. Feet up and a brew now.

An experiment for lunch, pigs in blankets with brie and cranberry. Split the sausages lengthways, teaspoon of cranberry sauce and a slice of brie in each and wrap in a couple of streaky bacon rashers. 20 minutes at 180C in the air fryer. They were very tasty and, a dozen of those, will be my contribution to Christmas dinner at youngest offspring's house.

Four Elephants tomorrow night for curry and a Michael Jackson tribute act, should be good and it's only a 5 minute walk from home. I can treat myself to a couple of pints of Kingfisher

Reading that Kev makes me realise I lead such a sheltered life. Three hot meals of meat and veg, the last two topped off with savoury rice..... :biggrin2:

It was very good, we missed the forecast rain on the walk there which was a bonus. The Michael Jackson tribute was excellent, his voice and dance moves were spot on. Delicious food too.

Spaghetti Bolognese at Chez Kev this evening. Reheated wholemeal spaghetti (50% less carbs) with a homemade Bolognese and grated Padano on top went down well with one of Aldi's wines of the week.

Once again I am getting my cooked veggies and meat into a corner. I got some heavy veggies yesterday. in Town Square and will get the lighter ones at the Co-op this morning when the forecast rain has stopped.

Yesterday breakfast was last week's veggies, Dinner was a chunky breaded cod fillet with fresh veggies and the same for tea but mostly mushy peas for the veggies. I cooked next week's veggies and could cook some more today..... :biggrin2: (I do like cooking!)

The "Dinner Lady" from Wallsend with the lovely accent, and homely recipes, is even better organised than Stanley in the field of veggie preparation . That's quite an achievement.

I watch her sometimes David and she's good. Proper down to earth cooking just like my mother taught me.
(And no, I had a look but that's a rasp.... :biggrin2: )
I succumbed and cooked savoury cabbage and onion. Breakfast dinner and tea was three hot meals of chicken and veggies!

Chicken and veggies X two for breakfast dinner and tea.
No day is wasted if a thousand words have been written and the same thought applies to cooking in my book! Yesterday I cooked a swede and added it to the veggies.....

Tesco have started their now customary Christmas half price lamb leg offer. Still not cheap but a bargain at £6,45 per kilo - which is cheaper than minced beef.

I only took one of last year's two out of the freezer last week so there's room for another one. Don't worry about dates - they keep perfectly for that length of time.

I am munching my way into my last batch, three hot meals yesterday. At the same time I am planning for Xmas. I shall order meat tomorrow for delivery this week and put it in the freezer. Stuart and his family will have plenty to do next week without having to deliver to me.

Turkey roulade, pigs in blankets, roast spuds, roast carrots and parsnips, cauliflower cheese and gravy for a late lunch in Bannister's restaurant at Boundary Outlet. Got the last of the Christmas presents while we were there. Lots of socks, practical and easy to wrap :biggrin2:
