Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
All that's missing is a helping of sprouts David!
I was cooking again yesterday and added some freshly cooked pork belly to my tea. I've just harvested the fat off the gravy which has been in the fridge all night and will give the pork a few hours more of slow cooking before it's ready for Xmas Dinner!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Settled into my Xmas fare now, hot meat and veggies. The meat is pork and chicken. Ho Ho Ho!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Xmas dinner (and breakfast and tea) was meat and veggies. Not everybody's cup of tea but so easy!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Not sure what we're having for tea today, we've had turkey, gammon, curry and a full English breakfast over the last couple of days. Lunch was leftover Special Mix Biryani, from the Barlick Raj, in an omelette, which went down well. Whatever we have there's a few bottles in the kitchen to wash it down with

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I know what I will be having for breakfast and dinner, the last of the last batch of veggies and meat. I shall be cooking today and tea will be the first helping of the new 2025 cooking.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Found a bag of fish in the freezer so it's fish and pasta for tea today, a bottle of Valpolicellla to wash it down as we're out of white.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
You got me there Kev. I thought Valpolicella was wine so I looked it up.....
Valpolicella is a simple wine, a wine for pleasure, not for analysis. It goes with everything, from hors d'oeuvres to meats to cheeses. It even partners decently with fish, because it has the brisk acidity necessary for the job
No wine with my tea..... Breakfast and dinner were the last two helpings of last weeks cooking, for tea I had a selection of the veggies I cooked yesterday. Very clean flavour, particularly the sprouts.... (I love sprouts!)

Chicken and veggies X three. I cooked onion and cabbage to add as an extender. You know how much I love my extenders!

More extending yesterday, I fried my sweet potato chips. Three hot meals of chicken and veggies saw the day out.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Three hot meal;s as usual. And I was at it again, extending! I cooked swede and added it to the veggies in the fridge. I also cut up some pork I had about my person and put it in the slow cooker with the usual suspects, onions, spices and cyder vinegar. The twist came later when I put some sprouts in the cooker floating on the pork and gravy. They are cooked this morning and infused with curry. A bit different and I shall enjoy them!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
A couple of rump steaks from the freezer, chorizo, onion, red pepper, the other half of the stir fry veg from yesterday, a tin of tomatoes, tomato puree and some basmati rice (pre cooked) all in the wok. Tasted good and there's plenty left for lunch tomorrow. Washed it down with a bottle of Bordeaux.

10 minutes in the wok and the leftovers made a tasty lunch. Two meals for the price of one

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
That's the beauty of home cooking Kev!
I had three hot meals of meat and veggies and am aiming to make this week's cooking last as long as possible. No weather for old men out there!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I've knocked up a stew in the pressure cooker. Smoked bacon lardons, braising steak, pearl barley, carrots, celery, onions, carrots, parsnips, swede, Brussel sprouts, spuds and peas. Cold weather fodder
It was very tasty and there's more than enough for tomorrow. Washed it down with a festive bottle of beer
