Stoneroad is right about the reservoir, now, which one?
The pic was done in 1976.

Passed to me by someone who knows a lot more than I do but wishes to remain anonymous, The head of Haweswater exposing the village of Mardale. He knows because he walked round it.

P has got it, it's Haweswater and the pic is the inside of the bar of the pub. It was a lot lower then than in the second pic..... The village was Mardale and was drowned when the dam was built.
Next one?

We were sent these as a free gift when we ordered something on the Internet. My wife says they cost $2 each in California. Very useful but what are they for?

No. Sorry, that was an earlier 'gadget' I posted a while ago.

These are used as a pair, have a definite purpose, and are very useful.

What's an avocado? :biggrin2:

No, sorry.

I'd never seen these things before but when my wife said she had seen them in America I wondered if they were common kitchen items. Seems I'm not on my own.

Well done, Kev. Exactly right.
We also use them for picking up our cast iron wok and cast iron pans.

Amazing, surprising what you can learn from third world countries.

Here's an easy one. Can you put some detail round this.
