No, just rename the file to something not relative to the content before attaching.

Cath, I mentioned it but unless you have been hit with it its one of those things that's soon forgotten. If you have pulled this out of your own file which was copied from the internet the file name goes with it. If you put it into the OG gallery and then attach it the file name is lost.

Nothing to do with Pubic Baths but liquids were involved. Not Charles St. More central but you may smile at the possible relationship of Council offices and this place.

A brewery??

Gloria gas got the Brewery bit, I won't dig any deeper on why she got it. So where was it and whose brewery.

Googled because I'm not from "the dark side" of Lancashire. My history is all Yorkshire way.

I went down the line of liquids and thought breweries, googled Nelson breweries and bingo.

A very interesting site PanBiker. of course you are right. I'm not sure how many of the pubs listed are still existing but the most well known is probably the Lord Nelson. in Nelson centre.

The original plaque from the brewery can be seen in the Admiral Centre, now Pendle Rise, Perhaps not surprisingly depicting the head of Nelson, slightly damaged but still part of our heritage.

Yes, a lot of folk won't even know that Nelson is a comparatively young town name owing all to the victor at Trafalgar. Formerly Marsden and Brierfield I believe. In some circles the former name persists, Marsden Star Angling Club for one and of course Marsden Building Society.

So which brewery was it?

Funnily enough the plaque is located indoors above Boots Chemists. When I was taking this picture nearly everyone who was passing looked up and said they'd never noticed it before, even the staff came out to have a look at it. Explaining where it came from took another 20 minutes of my time.

Originally Astley's Nelson Brewery Offices later became Nelson Cooperation's Sagar Street Works Department Yard 2.
Site.
William Astley, the son of a Blackburn brewer, came to Nelson in 1864.
He was elected to the local board, becoming alderman. He was however unpopular as a brewer in what was a strong Nonconformist town. It is said that member of the Salam Chapel refused to drink from the town center's marble water fountain, which he donated to the town.
The council bought the brewery from Massey's for Redevelopment, and the building demolished in stages. In 1968 this remaining part was made into a car park.
The bust of Lord Nelson was relocated into the Arndale Centre at this time.
Presented in 1972.
The building on the left was Phoenix Foundry.
Salam Chapel can be seen in the distance in the centre of the image
