You can't catch a wild Kipper as it ain't one until smoked, you can catch a Herring though

I suppose Gearce might be looking for the answer offered by Panbiker. The only other possibility that comes to mind is a long shot...is the tartan not a Scottish tartan? (Not all tartans are Scottish - even US states have tartans!)

Perhaps the fact that the text says kippers, whilst the picture shows only one?
