A poem of sorts - looking for help
Posted: 28 Apr 2014, 23:21
Hello everyone
I left Barlick when I was 11 years old . My dad is 81 and still living in Barlick
When we were really little he used to recite a poem / ditty / whatever you'd like to call it . I remember it had numerous verses and I remember one line that ran something like this :
"tomatoes dont' hurt said I with a grin , but them there tomatoes were still in a tin"
As I said my dad is 81 and can no longer remember the words and I'd dearly love to be able to learn this and pass it down to my kids
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Dad was a weaver all his life -don't know if that might help
