That'll be about right Mick. Doesn't it look strange without the trees....

This was in April this year, 30 years on With a lot of the new flags laid.

Barlick Modern Building

Barlick Modern before they added the "top bit"

To the left of the main building, out of shot, was where I did most of my apprenticeship class work. It was a branch of Keighley Technical College at that time and had it's own small workshop for the practical work. I had to go to Keighley to take my City and Guilds exams, of course.
I remember myself and my friend Mick McKim (sp) making a camera tripod for the facility as one of our practical exercises.
The remit, of course was "you've got to make it for nowt"
We went to what would have possibly been Kelbrook Metal Products and cadged some lengths of aluminum tubing for the tripod legs.

It was pretty laid back there giving me (and others) ample time to improve my 3 card brag gambling skills...
The wife of one of the tutors, who's name has slipped my feeble mind (possibly Mr Lord?), owned the pram shop at 27 Church Street.

Here's the college part I mentioned. This too looks to have had "something" added to the top since I was there. I presume this section has now been absorbed into the main school.

Indeed it has Mick and there is a two story extension at the other end of the school which runs around the back of the main hall as well. Until I had my brain tumour I was an exam invigilator at the school. Can't stand and pace around for the duration now. Sally, my wife still does invigilation though.

I've remembered the tutors full name that I mentioned. Jack Lord.
His wife's pram shop at 27 Church Street was always advertised before the start of films I would go to watch at the Majestic.
That's how I remember the address :-)
