What do you do if you have no biscuits in to go with your brew?
You bake these, Cashew and Raisin Cookies.

I will make a batch for our Bosom Friends Coffee Morning on Saturday. Better leave the nuts out though and double up on the raisins. Nuts do funny things to some folk.

They look good enough to eat but not for me I'm afraid. I have learned my lesson. Carbs is a very slippy slope!

What do you do if you have two many apples?
Make an Apple Pie of course.
Been out to get some double cream while it was baking.

Trouble with baking..... I only have to look at your goodies Ian and I put weight on!
But well done, nice to see the old skills being practised.
My Mother had a Be-ro book and swore by it.

Anyone that doesn't have a BeRo book is missing out on the all the basics of cooking and baking. We have two, an original from when we first got married, all the measures in imperial and I got a later version a few years ago which has metric first for the measures but still has the imperial equivalents, also slightly different recipes, I suppose to cater for later tastes in baking. It still has all the basics though for pies, puddings, pastry, batters etc. It was still free when I got the latest edition or maybe postage only.
