Let's try a new topic. I use Youtube more and more lately - as TV becomes less attractive, and frankly, at times boring. I suspect I'm not the only one.
Give it a try.
I like this from Delph in Saddleworth. Filmed this year. Can you spot the elephant in the procession - and in the crowd?
Fast forward to 4.35 minutes for the Australian band and Waltzing Matilda. The whole affair is wonderful.

Excellent David, I have created a new forum in the entertainment section and moved your new topic into here.

I agree about Youtube of course. As for the elephant in the room in the band video I didn't watch all of it but what struck me was that 'Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner' was a poor choice for Diggle and that bloody steward who kept standing in front of the camera.....

I do wish they'd put the band name on the bass drum in large letters. I think 'Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner' was played by the Crystal Palace band, who I think are entitled to do so. I liked the Norwegian band, who also sang vigorously, but I was a bit disapponted that the Aussies didn't have corks on strings on their wide brimmed hats.
World class event I'd say.

Not the biggest fan of that gang - but worth watching in small doses.
Now - I've been watching 'Bald and Bankrupt' on Youtube for a while now, but noticed he wasn't on my follow list. That's a puzzle - I don't think I deleted him. Anyway he's back on now and I find he's teamed up for some content with this chap.
He's worth a watch on his own I'd say. No wonder the Ghurkas are so keen to get in the British Army.

Very similar but in Vietnam. I watch this lad Robert regularly, he's a worker and understands his world perfectly.

Good stuff - helps to keep a broader outlook and sense of proportion. Shame it's not in English. It amuses me that they live like that and still have a smartphone.
This is Bui thi Toan - I lent her a chunk of cash a long time ago. I think it was to start a pig manure digester or for an inside toilet or something_- I forget. She failed to repay it. I couldn't care less. I hope some good came of the investment.
PS - Just checked up - I've made another thirty loans and they have all been repaid - and then re - lent (plus a donation) in full. Take a look - Lend With Care
PS - that got me in the mood so now its' thirty one - the latest is a lady called Marilu in Cebu, Philippines who has a stall selling cold drinks and lots more, outside a church. Their software is very good. No - I'm not on commission.

"I've made another thirty loans and they have all been repaid"
That's very impressive David and food for thought.......

Does YouTube have a sense of humor or is the positioning of two different videos purely incidental.

The programmers are human Ken so it wouldn't be a surprise if they were having a bit of gentle fun at Gove's expense.

I came across this Labour MP today- ripping into Post Offices bosses at a recent Select Committee session. I must say that I've never heard of hm, which is a surprise, but I'd vote for him in an instant. He seems quite different from any MP that I've heard recently. Hard to imagine him dodging a question. Perhaps that's why he's been hidden away?
PS - Second (ish ) thoughts - He's a vegan, and his wife has an energy business which seems to depend on Net Zero. Strange - since he looks quite normal. Must all count against him though.

This is a bit sneaky, normally it should be in the Politics section but since a bigger percentage than I would like have declared their hand to say they don't read it so I've tried a backdoor entry to sneak one in.
Only 6 mins long and bereft of the number of expletives that this chap uses.
True, amusing but annoying.

Thanks to whoever sorted out my blunder. If I was into the latest American jargon, I'd say "my bad". But I'm not so I won't.
Orang Utan - (person of the forest) - that reminds me of my list of about twenty Malay words that I know. I was an Orang Puteh (white man). In contrast to Hindi - not many made it into English. Perhaps only 'amok' - as in to run amok'.
I must put this chap back. He makes me smile.

Here's a bit of powerful singing - and seasonal too. The last minute is about seven on the Richter scale.

One of my favourites also. Never heard it in Swedish. Here is an Italian bloke who can hold a tune as well with a rendition in English and his native tongue.
