Rayne Hall

I seem to remember, quite a long time ago, there was some discussion about this lost medieval building, that lasted until the mid 19th Cent.
I know where it was, but someone said they have pre-demolition picture of it they were going to post on the site.
Searching through the gallery reveals nothing, has it been lost now?

I would love to see a copy, as I have some early family links here, has anyone retained a personal copy?

I remember that discussion and I'm afraid the photo never turned up!

A disappointment for me also. I have seen hints but never anything concrete.

Later, I did the obvious thing and Googled it..... :biggrin2:
Have a look at THIS topic and go to Nick's response of July 01 2012.
It would seem that he is the man to ask.....

Ahhh.. That does ring a bell, Stanley thanks, I think I asked him, but received no reply.
I have approached all known likely local/national archives, including Broughton Hall and newspapers, without any success, so far.
Seems somewhat odd that, unlike the former, earlier Bracewell Hall, a picture would not exist, especially as timber from Rayne was reportedly cut there and sent to Bracewell.
