Sadly Dad died just before midnight. He didn't quite make his birthday. He had a good day yesterday. He was in the lounge in the home all day, ate and drank well and was happy. He died peacefully in his sleep. I can't ask for anything more

Love you dad

Thank you for your kind thoughts. Officiall y dad died today.
Feb 14th 1917-Feb 14th 2012

One of dads wishes was that people would know that he had lived. To help achieve this I will be putting resume of his life on this site, when I feel I can put it together.

An announcement will be made at the Burnley match tonight. My sister and my youngest daughter are going to the match. They had better win in Dads honour! If anyone goes to the match please cheer for me

Sue, Mrs Tiz and I will look forward to hearing about your father's life story when you feel able to compile it. Putting it on the site will be a good way of making him known to many others and ensuring he won't be forgotten. One of our neighbours, in his late 80s, has written his story but he doesn't have a computer, so we are typing it up and editing it for him. We're also able to look up places and people on the Internet and fill it out for him. Everybody's story is interesting, often a lot more interesting than others would have expected.

What a tribute. Burnley won!!! We wondered if the ball was moving under some supernatural influence. Up the clarets Dad!

Thanks Belle. Dad had a lovely funeral, if you can say that about a funeral. All the family but two managed to get there. My sister and cousin read wondeful tributes. We had a meal later at his favourite pub where we used to take him in later years. What a day he would have had. The atmosphere was truelly a celebration of his life. The next day about 6 members of the family went to watch the Burnley match and they won again. Dad you are working hard up there!!
