Original Posting on Top Of Each Page

I have just noticed that when a topic goes over into multiple pages the original topic post doesn't appear at the top of say Page 2 like it did on the old site. I will delve into the code and see if I can get it to show the original post on top of each page, thereby making it easier to keep the thread on topic.

It might be easier to train pigs to fly

My last piglets found it difficult to master the basics, but eventually through a lot of practising and a few close calls, one or two managed to do a quick circuit of the Barnoldswick Air Space.

Ah! Well! If they mastered Basic they were indeed clever little pigs.
How were they on C++?

Dont think it needs it , the topic name appears as the first line anyway.

Don't bother for me, the original posting occurring at the head of each page was one of my pet hates on the old site. More often than not it was irrelevant because the thread had evolved or strayed from the original anyway. I visit several forums and I've never seen it elsewhere.

Might be nice if it is wanted , to have something like an abstract choice , so that posts like Stanley's View ( which should be a subforum under local history- ohh I think it is now ) , dont take up 90% of each page , just something that the poster can have a choice to have or not , with a little summary about the main topic , eg This week we consider the advantages of the town's built architecture with special reference to terraced houses. ( Of course in B&E Times this makes no sense as the page is static with no further commentry facilty ) but in a discussion forum it can be helpful.

On reflection I am with Pluggy about the first post being confined to the opening page. There is the case for reminding people what the topic is about but on the whole they go off piste anyway!

I think we should leave it as it is confined to the original post. Nolic

At the moment, the system default is set to have the original post at the top of each page, I'll turn it off, but leave the option open for those who wish for it.
