DR DICK'S LETTER TO JOHN TURNER

Post by Stanley »

Earby. Doctor Dick letter

After transcribing the previous article, I sent a copy to Dr. Dick, still living in Earby and asked if he would like to bring the record up to date. Here is his gracious reply:

The Crossings
2, School Lane
Earby
Barnoldswick
Lancs
September 2004

Dear Mr. Turner,
Many thanks for your letter of the 9th and its contents.
Dr. & Mrs. Dr. Morrison followed Dr. Falconer and carried on the practice from this house. Later he purchased Oldfield House in Water Street where I joined them. The Morrisons moved to The Grange at Thornton [previously the old Rectory renamed The Grange by Arthur Morrison] and I purchased The Crossings. I should say that their son Blake Morrison was brought up at The Crossings and is now a journalist free lance with the Guardian in Manchester.
Later, I left the Earby Practice and started up on my own in Crosshills but continued to live at The Crossings. You may rest assured that the people of Earby are well cared for by a group of four Doctors in a purpose built surgery.
I hope this will be of some use to you.
Yours Sincerely
D.G.Dick
