In Warner’s History of Barnoldswick, page 38. Richard Laycocke of Barnoldswick is mentioned as yeoman of Barlick and tenants of the Queen in connection with an action over water rights on the Black Brook (now County Brook). This is the dispute between Tenants of Foulridge and tenants of Barnoldswick in the Duchy of Lancaster Court in 1581.

Richard Lowcock paid land tax in Barlick but no address given. 1753, 1756,1757, 1760; 9/6. 1770, seven shillings and three halfpence.

William Lowcock paid land tax in Barlick. 1753, 3/-. 1756/57, 6/-. No address given. Also, but could be a different William; 1753, 4/10. !756/57 and 1760 paid 9/8. No address given but obviously different holdings.

William Lowcock Clark [I suspect the ‘clark’ may be a mis-spelling of Clerk and signified ‘Clerk in Holy Orders’] Land tax of 1/- in 1753 and 2/- in 1756/1757/1760.

Richard Lowcock of Salford mentioned as being qualified to be a director of the Calf Hall Shed Company of Barnoldswick. Ditto in 1899.

Craven Herald 30th January 1931 reporting on the More Looms dispute in the mills mentioned Lowcock and Sons at Linton Mill.
1944
Craven Herald mentions Sylvester Lowcock as farming at Fiddling Clough Earby.
